Octopus Tracker

Not really, when my Tracker tariff v3 came to the end of its term earlier this year, I got it renewed on the v3 for another fixed term. I don't have smart meters.MultiFuelBurner said:
Well that is definitive then, from the horse's mouth so to speak.wakeupalarm said:QrizB said:MultiFuelBurner said:What happens when Octopus hit the change everyone to the new fixed tracker tariff in the new year and they are still on dumb meters. The December 2023 v1 clearly states smart meters are a requirement.Either the dumb meter customers get swtched over, or they get kicked off the tariff.
They will get kicked off the tariff onto Flexible Octopus tariff. This happened to me early this year when my renewal came up and I didn't have a smart meter.
Did you then get a smart meter and then rejoin Tracker?
Octopus are consistently inconsistent.3 -
Not exactly - Tracker v1 and v2 customers were offered renewal on their existing versions, for a further 12 month fixed-term, rather than being put on the then current version of Tracker (as happened with v3 and later customers * ), irrespective of whether they had smart meters, and despite it being made a requirement at that time (IIRC).MultiFuelBurner said:

Of course, that was then, this is now, so...?
I wonder if v1 and v2 customers will be left for the duration of their current 12 month terms to end, before being moved to the new Tracker?
EDIT: * Seems, in some cases at least, not just v1 and v2, then?0 -
I think v1/v2 and maybe v3 early adopters have earned some leeway with Octopus being their guinea pigs?SJMALBA said:

A reward for being 'brave' pioneers? Possibly.MultiFuelBurner said:

I requested to go on tracker via the form on the website and sent an email chasing after a week (because I'm impatient!) and they switched me that same day. Bit annoying how inconsistent it is.calleyw said:Matt17 said:I requested to be moved to Tracker last week but I'm still waiting for them to do it. Should they honour the previous formula or put me on the new more expensive one?
I have been waiting close to 4 weeks since requesting to go on a tracker and I had an email on the 1st december confirming my requestion never told me when I was getting put on the tracker just that I would have to wait up to 2 weeks to leave it!!!1 -
That could be Octopus' next tagline.fryedslyce said:

Have you checked the tariff on the Octopus app to see if they've just gone ahead and changed it without formally notifying you? Did you get an email asking you to confirm acceptance of the T&Cs?

Yes, it seems to be a fair point :-) I guess the chopping and changing and rationalising tariffs at the moment is intended to tidy everything up and provide a higher degree of consistency.
