Thought I'd ask in here first before contacting Octopus.

I've just had a bill from them since going on tracker and having a smart meter fitted. Instead of using the daily readings from the smart meter (that show in my account) they have averaged out the readings over the 12 days the bill covers.

All our bills have looked like that, but at the end there's a page itemising each day's use and price which is what they use to calculate the average unit price billed.
It's the last page I'm querying as the readings on that page have been 'averaged' out.

So instead of using the actual daily readings, for example. 7, 8, 6, 9, 7, they are all 7.xx

An excerpt from my most recent bill:

I don't have a smart meter, so usage is apportioned from the monthly meter readings that I supply, but actual daily unit rates are applied to the apportioned daily usage.

I checked and my rate tomorrow is 11p, this is the lowest I have paid per unit so far.  Long may it continue!

    Is that normal?

Will they now bill me on the actual daily readings from the next bill?

You should see extra pages on the bill, its easy to miss.

The summary will show average unit rate to simplify the presentation, but then you will specific billing on the extra pages for each day on tracker (if on agile for every 30 minutes).

just looking at the wholesale gas price and see its jumped 30% today. just interested as to what makes such a impact to the price in summer, on a sunny breezy day?
can't see any major news stories that may have an impact.
    thanks.

According to the Daily Telegraph, there is the prospect of a strike in Australia which has led to a 49% increase in LNG prices. If the strike materialises and is prolonged then it is expected that the increase in LNG prices will impact Europe.

What is the "official" or best place to find the tomorrow Tracker price as soon as it's available, and what time is it usually released?

I am thinking of changing to Tracker and I've been looking at sites like energy-stats UK - they seem to update the Agile prices in the afternoon each day for the next day, but the tracker price doesn't seem to update until much later, maybe midnight?
