As well as not yet trusting Fuse to last, it seems people who stick with Agile for the financial benefit get their average energy cost well below Fuse's offering.
Same with Tracker, for those who aren't able (or simply don't want) to do a lot of load shifting in the daytime.
The standing charges with Octopus are higher, but the average unit rates on these tariffs well offset that for most, if not all users. And Octopus has a track record of trying to put its customers first and deal with them fairly. Fuse does not yet have a track record (as was the case at one point for Octopus, of course). All that being said, I sincerely hope it does work out well for the people that take a chance with Fuse.1 -
I’ve been on Intelligent Octopus tariff for the last month since getting an EV. A couple of 3rd party apps I use showed Tracker would have been cheaper so I requested a switch yesterday afternoon. Was very surprised to find I had been switched overnight (both elec and gas).
Todays electric tracker price is showing as 18.7p and my average on IO was around 22p. So not a massive saving but at least we won’t have to worry about scheduling stuff to run overnight for the time being.
At what point in the year should we expect tracker prices to start rising? I will need to keep a close eye on it and switch back to IO if necessary.1 -

Not sure you can really tell because last year was a strange year with caps and so on.
Also I'm sure it's been mentioned on the thread already but from what I understand, once you switch away from Tracker, you can only switch back after 9 months.1 -

That's good to see we have only been on electricity tracker for 3 months
However I presume that is just a blan average and has not taken into account the extra usage in winter how does that make the figures coke out for you with your usage in winter and higher tracker prices then for the overall average?

On gas Tracker I’ve paid £576.94 for 8615kw over the last 12 months at an average of 6.7pkw including standing charge of 15.09p daily. I’ve only just switched to Electricity Tracker so I haven’t had a bill yet.1

So for the 3rd time since joining the tariff in Feburary, I have received a bill today which has smoothed out the usage over the 30 days, rather than actually showing the actual usage each day and billing me accordingly. Think its to my detriment by 20p, not huge figures but if they do this to everyone...
Any idea why they do this? They have had every half hour reading from me and none are missing.0 -

For example on the 23rd August I used 14.39kwH but the bill says 10.29. Conversely on the 29th August I used 8.81kwH but the bill says 10.37.
Just baffling when most other bills have been correct and there have been no gaps this month (smart meter reporting fine) and the app shows the correct daily usage. Sometimes you can end up "winning" if they do it this way but this month its 20p higher than my own calculations, I know its not much but its not the point. Whats the point of shifting usage to perhaps a cheaper day tomorrow if they are just going to smooth it out?0 -
