As you say, still quite cheap though.
Having been asked to tumble dry some items, I was just looking at the output from my home solar system, and wondering why it seemed a bit lower... heat. Never paid much attention previously.
Edited to add, also ref lack of solar to the grid, hence the higher tracker rates.
Still better than the SVR though.0 -
My tracker tarriff ended yesterday (I can't remember the name of it, I signed up in June 2022)
I am now on "Octopus Tracker November 2022 v1" according to my Octopus account.
Surely this is not right? Or is the Nov 2022 v1 the latest tracker version with caps at £1 for electric and 30p for Gas?0 -
It was Octopus Tracker V3. Mine ends this week too. But if you looked on the tariff list there was ‘silver’ in the name too.0

So has everyone on original Tracker V1 and V2 been renewed onto the same V1 and V2 tariffs and everyone on V3 onwards renewed onto Nov 2022 v1, or are there any exceptions to this?0

I’m V3 and been moved to £1.00/30p too. I wish I could have kept 40p/11p caps.

I have been on Octopus tracker for 4 months .....current saving is £475 over the fixed cap ...yes I use a bit more than average but only about 25% more. Pensioner with badly insulated house...
I am concerned about the risk but to me the savings seem vast and unless the rates go crazy will use the savings I have made as a buffer
I know octopus say the average saving is 4% but for me it's been significantly more....
Octopus assessed my direct debit as £320 month in December.....they now accept that a £150 one is more realistic and they have credited me £800.
Of course there is a risk but at the moment I am truly quids in. It's wrong that more were not on this tariff when the prices were so high

(The figures for parts of the end of 2022 are a bit more complicated that I've not got round to sorting out yet, we overpaid in Aug/Sept then saved a fair amount October, and a little less in Nov/Dec.)1 -
Everyone should be aware that the EPG skewed the figures for Tracker and Agile over the last year to the point they were no brainers. That's not true any more. If it goes like last year there were spikes in the electric price up near 80p a kwh and several multi week periods between 40p and 50p a kwh. Likewise there were several periods where the gas price was around 20p a kwh for weeks at a time. It was only the exceptionally mild end to winter that kept the price down during Feb and Mar. No one knows how it will go this coming winter. Hopefully it will be ok, but don't bet on it.
