I've found that contacting Octopus, via twitter brings the fastest response.

It seems to be the only way now - but the responses are completely unreliable and contradictory. God knows what’s going on in Octopus these days, but getting any sense out of them is worse than TalkTalk!

They still seem fine on matters not related to a tariff they don't want people to be on but won't close to new customers. The problem seems to be the responses are inconsistent because the policy is inconsistent.

My V3 gas ends 17th June. The app now shows a countdown icon - 52 days left but no contact from Octopus about it yet.
Sit on your hands. Do nothing and it will just extend for a further year on your present tariff version.
Mine ends on June 3 and I received a renewal email last week. It said if you dont reply saying you want to remain on Tracker then you will be moved to Flexible so I would not assume you will stay on Tracker as the default response.
They must have changed their emails. This is what I received:

I did nothing and I am still on the old tariff version.
v3 renewal emails have known to have different renewal process than v1 and v2 which was why Griffindog specifically asked question relating to v3 renewals
It's not just 2 and 3 it has changed for. I'm on V1 which ends 31 May and they have said I'll roll onto Flexible unless I ask to remain on Tracker. No mention it being the same tariff though.
I'm on v2 and got the same email as you - have to contact them to stay on Tracker or it rolls onto Flexible, and nothing explicit as to whether it will be v2 or the current version...

It rolls on to the current version on the tariff page.

I did not contact Octopus when my V2 gas just rolled over on the 14th of April.  the tariff page confirms it is V2 not the latest version.

It seems like the lights are on but nobody’s home at the Octopus email help desk recently - a few people have reported poor wait times generally when contacting them by email at the moment.

Apparently the best way to get in touch with them right now is by phone call or Twitter for some reason, if you’re willing/able to use either of those methods.
I must say since being with octopus a few years I’ve never had a decent email experience with them. Either my emails were never replied to or it took many weeks to get a response and sometimes those responses were super brief or not much use. Often when calling them and saying I hadn’t had a response they’d look in their system and find my email…..very bizarre.

however, I’ve always been able to get them over the phone and usually resolved any issue quickly. They’ve also pretty speedy thru twitter.

Already known for v1 and v2, are you on v3 as the question asked?

The bit in bold does suggest though that your caps are going up, it would be cool if you can confirm that. :)

Extended for a further year with a 6p cap:

Yep this is known, apparently someone earlier in the thread mentioned only v1 and v2 customers are getting this treatment, I think thats why you was asked about v3.

But its good that even with that text in bold they didnt bump the cap so that raises some hope.

It would seem a bit off if Octopus were to up the cap for those already on the more expensive trackers, but of course they are within their right to do that, so I guess we wont know until nearer the summer.  Not sure when v3 first went on the market.

I think the real win for you there is that cheap SC personally as a lot of the time the unit rate is below 6p anyway. :)

The SC is the main reason I want to keep my Agile on renewal time, as thats 21p/day. Instead of the 50'ish p it is now on modern tariffs.

In-between posts that you replied to, someone on v1 with later fixed term expiry had different renewal email, instead of 12 month fixed term extension they roll onto flexible unless they contact Octopus saying they want to stay on tracker. - same renewal email as v3.

Contacting Octopus to say want to stay on tracker tariff should mean need to have a smart meter in order to go on currently available tracker version.
