I inherited 30 guitars from my husband. That's on top of the cello, two keyboards, nyckelharpa, cittern, Irish bouzouki, Greek bouzouki and baglama, and other assorted instruments (a couple mine!) bringing the total to 50. Luckily I had a big cupboard I could put them all in. It made a talking point when viewers opened the cupboard door ...

Unfortunately I couldn't fit my piano in the cupboard too. No one remarked on that, though. But they did like dressmaker's dummy on which I'd put a theatrical costume I'd made for my drama group and stood it in front of an untidy pile of stuff I couldn't find a hidey hole for.
I’ve never even heard of some of those instruments! I must do some research.

I used to enjoy it when properties were listed by estate agents that would include related ornaments in each picture.  Eg ewe-move would have a sheep, apple homes would have an apple.  I'd spend more time looking for these than looking at the house.  So just helping the OP out on their subsequent listing:

3 or 4? Pathetic. You need at least a dozen:

(which isn't even the most noteworthy thing from this Rightmove listing)

We had a good belly laugh at this place.  But actually isn't it a bargain at 500k?  That interior must've cost over a million, surely.  It looks like it has been done to a really high standard.

    Yeah, operating theatre standard!

I don't think there's anything wrong with a guitar on show if you actually play it. I quite like a vase of twigs with lights too.

What baffled me on one listing was two bikes mounted on the kitchen/diner wall.  Why not keep them in the shed (the house had a garden and a shed)?  Looked awful.  Also saw one with massive clocks in every room, some rooms more than one clock!
  • When I viewed Engelbert Humperdinck's house there were Ten Guitars. 😁

Guilty as charged  :) I borrowed my daughters acoustic guitar & stand to help stage the main bedroom. Glad I wasn't asked about it as I can't play a note. In my defence, I didn't commit any of the other crimes mentioned on the thread & the house did sell quickly  :D
  • They're good for hiding patches of damp. Or is that a piano?
