Where to put my guitar?

That's something I've never experienced in any house I've viewed.coffeehound said:
Did they smell of freshly-baked bread and/or freshly-brewed coffee as well?James-may said:Just thinking about it, and a few places I've been looking at have had a guitar placed in a corner on a stand or on the walls.😂

Yes, I imagine a studio would seem more up-market. I think there are quite a few people now with bars in their gardens. A friend at work has installed one too, complete with optics, fruit machine, round tables with stools, dart board, etc. They spent a fortune on it.James-may said:
There's a place near me with large shed type thing with windows, but had a full art studio set up, paint and canvases in it.staffie1 said:
It's true! In fact now when looking through RM listings, I play 'find the guitar'! I went to see one place recently, and I knew from the pictures there was a guitar in the living room. As I walked in, there it was by the fireplace in all its glory. I couldn't take my eyes off it!James-may said:Just thinking about it, and a few places I've been looking at have had a guitar placed in a corner on a stand or on the walls.😂
I mentioned it in work and someone who lives on the street said it was a bar the previous month, but they made it look like an art studio as they thought it would look better. If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -

To be fair to my guy with the guitar on the second viewing my mum mentioned it and he actually played it for her. Cringe. 🙄

I think a lot of people (mostly men) just have an idea most of their lives that one day they will be bona fide rock gods so of course they need a guitar. Most of them will probably be able to strum Wonderwall.staffie1 said:
It's difficult to know why people latch-on to these fads. I was going to blame the TV make-over shows, but I don't remember seeing a single one promoting the use of these props. As you suggest, it's much better just to see the house itself, rather than the distractions.MovingForwards said:68ComebackSpecial said:
A ukulele would work even better.Herbalus said:I’m a relatively small person, and was thinking of being visible in our box room photo to demonstrate it looks bigger than it actually is. Complete with 3/4 size guitar for full effect.
A guitalele will work better as it looks like a full-size guitar, but isn't much bigger than a uke.
I also noticed nearly everyone had a guitar strategically placed when looking, plus the usual signs and grey everything.
It was great seeing the rare ones with old décor and original fittings, lots more character and individuality.
Real guitarists have at least 3 or 4 of them in the house.1 -
It is a bit cringe worthy I must admit! Maybe quite awkward too!nimbo said:To be fair to my guy with the guitar on the second viewing my mum mentioned it and he actually played it for her. Cringe. 🙄

3 or 4? Pathetic. You need at least a dozen:wannabe_a_saver said:

Whatever you do, don't forget your oversized clock. Or even better, oversized numbers and the clock hands glued directly to the wall4

Will have to find somewhere to hide partner’s 5 wall-mounted guitars when it comes to selling 😂 How about the huge vinyl wall sticker saying KITCHEN, just in case you weren’t sure what the room with the oven was meant to be used for?2021 Fashion on the Ration Challenge - 66/66 coupons remaining.2
