My dog loves cheese. She appears from nowhere when she hears me cutting it. She still remembers the day I nearly dropped a whole block on the floor, just managed to catch it in time before she got to it 😆 Wrapping tablets in a small amount of peanut butter does the trick for my dog 😉I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I managed another £5 amazon voucher on ipsos today so have purchased book 2 in the Anne Kinnear series in anticipation of finishing book 1 and I have a glorious £1.51 left to spend 😬

Well that’s another day under my belt, just tomorrow to go and then pay day, hurrah!
I have nearly finished The Sense of Death, so I’m very pleased to have the next book lined up. It’s well written and also quite twisty, which I like.
work is really busy and every day this week I’ve been really glad to finish, so that’s another reason to be wishing for the weekend.
I was tweaking my pots and updating my spreadsheets today in anticipation...oh the exciting life I lead 🤣

ps we adopted 2 cats a couple of weeks ago and just getting used to them & their tastes!, xxThank you for calling by, it’s lovely to see you.I’m the same with spending money, even paying bills is satisfying 🤷🏻♀️ It’s really hard finding new things to do to replace the joy of spending.
congratulations on your new cats...they will soon be in charge (if they aren’t already) 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Our labrador never needed a tablet disguising as anything. 30 seconds holding the pill while saying "oooh a sweetie" then pretending to drop the said item resulted in the usual labrador vanishing trick. The only thing we found that he didn't like in the whole of his lifetime was lettuce because it stuck to the roof of his mouth.
I'm trying to replace the joy of spending with the joy of saving. I've given myself a daily allowance for our food shopping instead of a weekly one. This should keep my mind active and the spend/save ratio a bit closer to the front of my mind hopefully.4 -

I’m hoping allowances are the way to go, if my weekly one doesn’t work next month I may drill it down to daily!

For me it's the joy of seeing my debts come down but they just aren't coming down fast enough - but that's probably because I can't/don't do the ultimate frugal life. I have to keep giving myself a kick up the bum and saying the debts didn't arrive overnight and aren't going to go overnight either. They could come down in leaps and bounds if I didn't put so much into my pots every month. But then I also get joy just from looking at my Monzo account and the pots so swings and roundabouts.
Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again4 -
@Naomim I also appreciate the debts coming down. I have sheets on my spreadsheet for both loans, detailing every payment until they end, and I colour in the months as I make the payments. Then I add in the interest and any overpayments and I can see at a glance how long I have left and when I reduce the term with paying extra.
I haven’t ever managed to keep my Monzo pots in business, but May is the month! Next month I may be able to join you in admiring them 🥳
I have never managed to have an emergency fund, I have always thrown it at debt or spent it, but it makes so much sense to have one.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Just had a read through - well done for your LBM! Hope it sticks for you through May.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys paying the bills, seeing the money settle into the places it should be fills me with joy!My debt free diary
