Happy Friday ⭐️
I did manage to make the leek and potato soup today. It was a bit on the thin side, I think I needed more veg in there, but overall it wasn’t bad. I will attempt it again. It wasn’t earth shattering, but it was pleasant!
Mr redo could have been really popular with all the housewives and pensioners 😅 He would have been a youthful and masculine shining light in the bee keeping community 🤭
We are the same milann, lots of things we watch on our own, but then some we have to wait for joint viewing. I watched Scoop tonight. It was watchable. I’m really looking forward to the next Bridgerton.
T*sco has a 2 hour window delivery in the morning tomorrow, so I will have the afternoon to go out and ‘do something’.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Well hello and happy Saturday ⭐️✨
Tesco came bright and early so it’s all put away. I have done my face cleansing (which I should do every day, but sometimes don’t have the will for), oiled the ends of my hair, emptied the dishwasher, fed all the fluffies …. And the sun is shining! Dog is moaning and barking, but won’t get up and is probably keeping MrWW awake, but you can’t have everything!
I am wearing an old jumper, which is slightly ratty, but has beautiful bright stripes and I love it as it reminds me of a similar jumper from my very early teens. I took a picture to celebrate it, thinking I might post it somewhere, but then was unhappy with how old I looked. Then I realised the jumper it reminds me of (known as the bee jumper, even though the stripes were pink) was from forty years ago…forty years! No wonder I look old 🤣🤣🤣 Crikey! I think I need to get used to the real me in the mirror, a few crinkles are to be expected. So that was a nice learning moment…sigh!I had a few dried apricots and walnuts for my first snack of the day. I won’t say breakfast in case that needs to come later…but it’s all counted and healthy. I may have a second attempt at soup later.
I hope you all have a wonderful day ☀️ I am determined not to be miserable today (hold me to it).Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Sounds like a great morning so far, and yes you are allowed to look your age, what with that being the age that you are 😁
Have a lovely Saturday, go make happy hay while the sun shines!2 -

Hi everyone. I did things! I went for a walk to the beach, saw the sea, stood on the sand and walked back the circular way around the fields full of lambs and the woods. It was very breezy, but sunny too…and I said hello to 3 people and managed to steal a stroke from a dog 😁 When I came back the heavens opened, so the timing was spectacular. I also did a touch of weeding this morning (well grassing actually as it is grass that should not have taken over a path)..so I am on 9247 steps at the moment and there is still cat litter to muck out and several garden wanderings in my future.I had salad for lunch (and a 4 finger Kitkat for balance) and I am just warming up the last of the leek soup, but I have jazzed it up with a handful of wholewheat pasta and the meat from a cooked chicken thigh (dog has plenty too….dont worry). I will still have enough calories for something unhealthy later. My nail kit came and I spent 2 hours while MrWW was having a sleep before work doing a full set. It should be quicker with practice, but to be honest I don’t mind the time if they last for 2 or 3 weeks as promised (side eyes the old kit of broken promises). I chose to do midnight blue for 3 fingers and then a really sparkly silver for thumbs and ring fingers and I’m very happy so far. They survived making MrWW’s pack up, so we’ll see how they do with the litter later 😅

Good morning and happy Sunday ☀️ I was up with the dog at 6.30am…hurrah for Sunday lay ins 😖
Anyhow, I procrastinated for a bit, then did all the morning jobs, jumped in the shower, fed the furries and am now pondering how to match my (almost 11k) steps from yesterday. I do need to drive to l*dl for the cat lickies (which one of my boys has a total addiction for), then I hope to go for another march.
As usual, if one part of my life is on track (food and exercise) another part dips (spending). I just can’t master the art of being good with everything all at the same time! Items are needed, but I could have held firm 😬 I finally plumped for a decent memory stick, as my phone and iPad have been bleating at me for years about the lack of storage space and cloud back up for my photos. Then I needed coffee beans and also bought 2 rather fine embroidered jumpers for when the family come up next month. I don’t want to look raggy, but being honest I have plenty of nice stuff, I just really wanted these 🤭
So that was rather a lot of spending I hadn’t planned, but I will use and or enjoy it all. I was aiming for the moon with my hoped for savings this month, perhaps too ambitious! I will still have a decent amount…although next month will be a no save month down to birthdays and holidays.Anyhow, that’s my confession for the day! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone ✨🌷Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

All of mine love the lick tubes too. Mrs Brady Old Lady knows to wait until nobody else is around to demand hers, and will even communicate with people who are not me if she is offered a tube. Great pence per smile return though. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

@redofromstart out of the 4 of them, only one has the lick tube obsession, but he is a complete and blatant liar with them. He will insist he hasn’t had one seconds after finishing one, even if he is demanding one from the very person who just gave him one 🤭
i did collect the lickies (protection lickies, so we don’t get done over by the stripy mafia) and managed another walk. I’ve got to 9400 steps, so a little less than yesterday, but my shins are complaining. For the second day running I walked in the door just as the heavens opened.I really fancied chips tonight so had mine with a big mixed salad. Air fried chips too, so hopefully not too bad. I refrained from adding bread and butter!

Could you split 50/50 between savings and spending with a view to trying to save some of the spending pot? What’s more important to you, losing weight, getting more exercise or saving? Perhaps concentrate on one thing at a time to start with then once you’ve got one bit off to a tee start chipping away at another.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
