What glass containers did you get?  Do you rate them?

Well done on the French
The make is Igluu. They are solid, have a Pyrex like heft to them and really good air tight seal lids. I’m impressed so far. I got some oblong ones and some round ones. Today’s salad was still very fresh and not at all soggy (I think the paper towel suggestion worked). I could easily have done 4 days prep, maybe even 5. I might try next week. I love the glass containers as they are oven safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe…and they are a nice size to eat straight out of, or meal prep/batch single portions. Both shapes were 5 big and 5 small. I used one of the small ones for storing the rest of the tomatoes from the open pack…sat them on a bit of kitchen roll as I’d washed them and they were a bit damp, when I used them yesterday they were really fresh. So, yes I do rate them 😁. I’d been thinking about swapping to glass for ages and the price was putting me off, but I think I’ll still be using them in 10 years (if I don’t drop them 😅).
Thanks keep on knitting, I will report back on the success of the soup.
After an almost 2 week holiday with evri my flowery high top trainers arrived this evening. I don’t know if they have a brilliant warehouse or a first class van interior, but my parcels love to spend extra time with evri…they are in no rush to be delivered..sigh! My heart sinks when my parcels are shipped with them. They must offer cheap rates without having the network 😖 However, they are lovely, I haven’t tried them on yet, but they look very cheerful.

Good morning and happy Thursday 🌷⭐️ A day closer to the weekend at least…not that I’ll be able to do much exciting as MrWW is on nights. They are much worse than days as he’d wonder why I was going somewhere without him, but then what can you do when they are sleeping…or not wanting to go out before work, or in the middle of the night when they are out as there’s nowhere to go? I need to sort out my life and plan my weekend 😅
Today is just work and trying to get some steps in. This morning the scales went up a pound. I’ve definitely been in calorie deficit all week, so goodness knows!
I still plan to make the soup when I get a chance.
I hope you all have a good day 🌷✨

  • Sorry, have I read correctly you can't go out during the daytimes because Mr WW wouldn't like it even though he's asleep?

Hilarious Pennys…I sound like a 1950’s housewife 🤣 Not that exactly, but we live remotely and away from family. There isn’t a lot to do on my own. If I went out for lunch, or something he would like to do, he would wonder why I didn’t wait until he was available iyswim? There aren’t places you could just pop into for a coffee like you could in a retail park or similar. I have somehow got into the habit of not doing things because there isn’t a lot to do and have shrunk my life! I absolutely need to step up and do more things …but what? I absolutely need to fix this. He would never tell me not to, but he’d be a bit hurt 😖 Same with watching things…oh don’t watch that, I want to watch it too….then he never gets around to it 😖

  • Ah yeah I do see what you mean, as you say life shrinkage not great though. Could you at least go for a half hour walk and listen to music or a podcast? Are there other people anywhere near you who you could arrange something with he wouldn't be interested in? Is there a WI group? I do feel for you, rural is fab in many ways but in many ways not! At least in my grimy city I can go for a stroll and look out for McD tokens in the street litter 😂

Mcd’s is the stuff of dreams 🤤
I tried looking for groups and there only seem to be things going on in working hours and mostly angled towards parents or pensioners. I should have another look for SWI groups.

ooh village mafia.  I know what you mean though, I am in a village and everything is in the daytime for lonely housewives.

Mr Redo made me laugh, he was interested in a beekeeping course but it is always weekday day time, and he could go, as he has taken early retirement, but he will not as he says it will be full of lonely housewives and pensioners.

Hope you find something. As you say everything is aimed at pensioners ( which is a good thing in many ways) I joined the U3A when I finished work and lockdown allowed. Think I’m the youngest by at least 10 years but I’ve stuck with it as it made me get out of the house. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll stick with it though as last week there was some folk running a craft group who were VERY patronising and I could have happily bopped them  one 😂😂 I had a go at WI which is supposed to be for all ages but I’d say 3/4 were pensioners. It was a very big group - 50 people at a time and although everyone was nice enough I found  it was hard to fit in, so I didn’t renew my membership’s. I’ve found a knit and natter at a local wool shop is best for me about 6/7 ladies of mixed ages and it’s every week. I get what you say about Dh wanting to watch things with you as we’re the same. I have my programmes I like and he has his then we watch things together. I’ve been watching Fat Friends on Netfick and found it quite funny, but I can relate as I go to a slimming group. James Cordon was a baby in it 😂😂😂

  • I've been fancying watching Big Mood on Channel 4 Player, I don't watch much telly though so it feels like fitting another thing in, which is a bit daft of me. Maybe when me and Mr PIP have a slightly more stable schedule we can have a tad more mooch time
