I agree, better to look for good health than focus on arbitrary weight or dress size.

That is sad pip. We women should be taught body confidence at a young age and about being happy in our own skin. I am the very worst at talking badly to myself. Gosh you look old/my goodness you look fat feature heavily in my self talk and I absolutely need to kick that habit. I would never say to a fellow human the things that I say to myself! It is a very bad habit to break.
Mostly I want to feel fitter, not lose muscle, not self inflict any age related issues and fit into the clothes I have with a little room to spare. I’ve never been skinny, but I used to be a comfortable size 12, yet at the moment I can’t order clothes without doing the size dance of Will I be a 12 or a 14 at this store?
I promised MrWW a roast dinner today…what was I thinking? 🤔 So much work 😅 I will try to have more veg than buttery roast potatoes on my plate. I plan to boringly weigh and measure what I have so I can track it fairly accurately. MrWW will want a trough 🤭
I plan to meal prep some salads for lunches. I’m not sure how long they will last chopped up? I may try for the 5 days with the basic salads and then add boiled egg or tuna or whatever each day…would that work? I don’t want a limp brown salad on days 4 and 5. I guess trial and error is the way to go.
I also need to run my car today and I’ll fill her up, then I want to do my weekly hair oil (which sits for a few hours), so I have lots to get on with.
i hope you all have a good day ☀️🌷

Michael Moseley did a test on pre-prepped salads on his TV programme (Friday) and they seem to go downhill around day 3. I would only prep salads a couple of days in advance to be honest.

I'm not great at meal planning because I often don't fancy what I'm supposed to be having for dinner. I weekly plan instead. I think of 7 evening meals and make sure that I have all the ingredients in shopping day. Obviously the menu choice is reduced by the end of the week but being able to choose works better for me. Also if plans change and I have less time than I thought I can make a quicker dinner that originally planned most of the time.

Thanks SA, I will take this as gospel and just do a few at a time.

  • If you have a container of salad or a bag of salad leaves pop a sheet of kitchen roll in there. Soaks up moisture and keeps the leaves fresh for longer

Two days at a time, otherwise unfortunately it does go nasty.  I have done three occasionally but usually regret it.   The lettuce and tomato suffer, red onion isn't great and I don't eat cucumber but I don't think that keeps well either
  • Ooh I like the tip about the kitchen roll.

In the summer I do a big tub of greek salad, and like others I usually only do up to about 3 days worth. Enough for the night I am making it and the following two nights.
