Hey WW, well done on not buying stuff, I hope what I'm going to say won't send you to the big river store 😅
When I started eating later in the day, I found it heleped having lots of water or a hot drink to keep the hunger away. I don't allow myself more than 2 cups of coffee a day and they're both drunk before 10. So I drink herbal tea, or even better - a miso soup. Miso comes in jars and you can use a teaspoon for a cup of hot water, but I love the little sachets that are more liquid and disolve better. They have a salty / umami taste that's really satisfying and also a little bit of chewy seaweed bits. Both Tesc0 and Sainz carry them, but the ones in Sainz are better value as it's a 5 pack rather than the 3x in Tesco. Surprising as it's the same brand Yutaka. They are only 25 calories so negligible.

Well done on not spending 👏
I am of the opinion that it doesn’t matter what time you eat as long as you have a calorie deficit. I successfully lost a stone 22 years ago and have kept it off ever since. This was from just eating less and re-educating myself re portion size etc. I guess what I’m saying is don’t make yourself miserable and end up eating more after 12pm to compensate. I have my breakfast at 5.30, lunch at 12 and evening meal at 6.30. I don’t eat anything after my evening meal until breakfast.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
Thanks @Sun_Addict. I do agree that it’s energy in versus energy out. I think for me loosing that 3 or 400 calories in a morning gives me the wiggle room to have a sensible lunch and tea. You have very vegetable dense meals which must help such a lot. I am still stuck in the cycle of only managing that when MrWW is having something I can make for 1 (eg a fry up last night). If he wants something like a curry he wants to share it and doesn’t want it just making for him, so I end up just having a small portion instead of having what I want. I may have to work on training him to just have it over 2 days if I can 😅. I have always done better at weight loss when I could have calorie counted pre packaged meals as there is no room for error, but it’s not easy to do that when you are feeding someone else. Maybe I should go veggie again? That would take some of the reasons to share away 😁 Of course I’m not in the same ball park as you as you get so much exercise. I did want to try skipping, but have been ordered by MrWW not to skip in the house….like I’m a baby elephant who will drop through the floor! So I may try that outside when the ground isn’t boggy (but hard as we don’t have any smooth surfaces) or inside when he isn’t here 😁 At the moment I am just jumping up and down without the rope when I’m out with dog…I must look like a mad woman 🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

You could do a YT walking workout like Keep Fit with Rick. They start at just 10 minutes so easy to fit into your day. It’s a start you can build up on. If you’re on Instagram it’s worth following The Fitness Chef as he blows the lid off dieting myths and fads. He’s really funny too. I only have a slice of dry toast for breakfast then mainly soup for lunch. I always have a decent dinner though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

And I like buttery bread with my soup 😖 I think I need to channel my inner SA!I did do a keep fit with Rick ages ago…I can’t remember why I didn’t do more…possibly MrWW being in the house 🤭 I will revisit that, thank you.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I had a look at the fitness chef, he should be a comedian 🤣
He seems to promote moderation, but that doesn't really work, if it did we would all be slim and fit. I think we're all different and different things would work for each of us. For example, I notice Sun_Addict is very conscientious, like I am (and I think we share a birthday 🎂 ) and whatever she sets her mind on, she will be successful at. Being that food, exercise, savings, work, etc. Moderation is something she can work with, I can't but I have different strategies.
I think our brains haven't evolved as fast as the food industry, and we still crave rich fatty and/or sweet food like we did when food was scarce, and most of us just can't ignore that 'calling' .😅

What made me smile is that, by implication, you spent your pocket money on Monday (although you havent said what on for those of us who are nosy), so you dont have any money left to spend till the new week...
You need to eat when it works for you, but it is hard working round someone elses eating. Mr Redo gets quite animated about the minor guilt of me just making his breakfast, I dont mind, and I prefer it to forcing me to eat things I dont want.
SA neither of my boys like anything on bread, a texture thing apparently. I could eat good danish butter on nice toasted white bread until I was sick, after midday obviously, if it wasnt for the whole gluten problem. GF bread is just dire.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

The fasting eating is fascinating. I can do 14 hours at a push but generally always manage 12 hours - I hadn’t even realised I was doing it. I’ve recently found having a brunch works well for me then a protein heavy snack about 2ish and tea between 6 and 7 depending what time Dh gets in….that’s with the luxury of being at home - there’s no way I could have driven to work on an empty tummy and then I had to eat at set times. I’d often had my dinner by 11.30 am and was ravenous by the end of the school day at 3 pm. If I’m going out I need to eat before I leave the house or I feel travel sick, so my 12 hours goes out of the window then. My downfall is eating out and boredom snacking although I have improved a lot. I’m convinced the hypnotherapy which looked at why I’m doing it has helped me.You’ll get back in the swing of controlling the spending again….I have every confidence in you 👍 Think about your old lightbulb moment and how you felt before you had it. You don’t want to ever go there again 🤔🤔🤔 You can do it…you know you can 👍January spends - £587.581

Happy Friday everyone 😁
I am just catching up on all of your lovely comments.
for those that asked (redo?) I spent my money on Mother’s Day presents, but had factored in a pot for those and then MrWW gave me it back, so I am in credit…woohoo! I’m not really sure what happened, but I still have £200 in my personal spending money for March. I did do some reshuffling with the clothes order, but haven’t impacted on my savings. I clearly need to keep a stronger grip on my reshuffling so I know what I changed. Next month will be a much lower savings month as I will need to order in heating oil, so I’m powering through this month with the most I can.Miso soup you say? I’ll be popping off to the big river pages forthwith 😅
I have managed all week with not eating until 12, although I have had a few coffees with a dash of skimmed milk. I think it’s supposed to level out insulin and things like that when you have a longer eating break/fast, but for me the win is not eating breakfast calories means I have enough for dinner and tea (and a snack) without busting the calorie budget.I did do a larger spend yesterday, but it came out of the house pot, so no drama there. It is a folding treadmill that I have been pondering for some time. It had £50 off, so came in at just over £200. It sounds a lot, but compared to a gym membership, travelling to it, etc. it doesn’t seem so bad. I am really hoping it will help with my step count as I can use it while I’m stuck inside, like lunchtimes or when waiting for the tea to cook, etc. I haven’t lost any weight for the last 2 days which is downright rude if you ask me, but I’m sticking just below my calorie allowance on nutracheck so am hopeful the losses will begin soon.I am still doing the hair oiling which I started in January. It’s on my mind as I’m doing it today before I wash it. It’s supposed to take 6 months to see the difference, but it does feel softer with less shedding.I hope you are all having a fabulous Friday ✨☀️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
