I remember my older sister putting olive oil on her hair every Friday night back in the 60s. She had beautiful, glossy hair. I also remember her occasionally breaking an egg into it, rubbing it in and leaving it for ages…..that really freaked me out 😂😂😂January spends - £587.582

Did you ever try it @milann? Olive oil is deemed too heavy and pore clogging according to the ‘hair people’, but rosemary oil (and variations with it in) all seem to be recommended. You just rub it in to your scalp a few hours before washing (once a week for me) and then shampoo it out thoroughly. Then oil the mid lengths and ends daily, to make it shiny…I think I overdid that last week, so am going to try again with the absolute minimum 😅 I have wavy hair, which can be curly with effort, so I’m never going to have the beautiful glossy hair of your sister. Really I’m just aiming for vaguely healthy and not shedding like a domestic animal 🤭 I do remember using beer shampoo in the 80’s, I wonder if that is still around? Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I think she put a tiny bit of oil on my hair (I used to want to be just like her 😂😂😂she was 13 years my senior) and it was washed out fairly quickly. I never did it properly as she did. I suppose folk did lots of the home made remedies and beauty hacks back then and some are becoming popular again, I can see why the olive oil would be classed as too heavy. I don’t think I ever bought olive oil to cook with until about 20 years ago but always had a small bottle in bought from the chemist - not a supermarket. I used to rub it onto ds skin after he’d been in plaster or on traction to help the dry skin. The smell still takes me back to hospital 😳 My sister also used lemon skins to rub onto her hands - I do remember doing that but I had a paper cut - OUCH….that’s why I remember it. Not sure what the benefit of it was meant to beJanuary spends - £587.583

Lemon on cuts is brutal…the price you have to pay for a good g&t 🤭 I wonder if it was to lighten the skin? I remember my sister using sun in and it turned her hair a very strange gingery orange 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I used sun in and had the same effect"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Happy Saturday ⭐️ I went to L*dl this morning, but was back by 10am and then it felt like a long time until 12 to be able to eat…but I’m sticking with it. I need to try for at least a few weeks to see if it helps. Normally I am a very slow loser and am lucky to get a pound a week while sticking to the calories. Then I did some reading and watched some tv. We had some sheep in the garden who seem to have wandered up from their field, but were easy for MrWW to herd back. I tried a 10 minute get fit with Rick after MrWW had gone to work….i can honestly say I am very unfit, I have no coordination and was out of breath by 7 minutes in 😖 so onwards and upwards! It didn’t help that dog was trying to join in, but she’s much too old so was just hopping about stiffly behind my legs so I had to keep stopping to give her a hug 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Well done for trying just keep going. I recommended Rick to a very unfit work friend and she’s doing really well now. Just take it steady you’ll get better in time. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
Well done to you and WinterWarrior Dog for your exercise session 😊2

Good morning and happy Sunday. I hope Mother’s Day is kind to everyone ⭐️
I got up nice and early at 5.45 as dog decided a dawn poo was in order. The birds were singing and it was dark, but crisp and pleasant in a weird half awake way.
i took my car for a ride (minus dog as she can’t/wont jump in anymore) and did some reading and made lunch..that’s about it so far. I will do my nails this afternoon, I’m deciding between a pearly white or raven black like my soul 🤣
I hope you are having a good day ✨Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
