Good morning!
I got an email that my payslip is now online and again I am paying less tax than I expected. Payroll said last month that it's to account for the extra tax I paid up to April, but I usually get a refund for that. I am a bit worried that will have to pay this back at some point.
Why don't you allow yourself a generous spending budget to make it easier? Since you don't have any more debt you can spend a bit more and keeping to the budget might give you a boost?
And how about you both have a sandwich for lunch and then use the rest of your break for a power nap? 🤗
I hope you have a lovely day! 🌻01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

Morning to you
I get the internal files today for payroll and whilst i cant see take home pay until friday (payday) i can ensure noone has messed anything up!
I've also checked budgets this morning on account of hub securing new job and so will be moving from weekly to monthly pay plus the fact my hours will officially drop in July (down to 4 days a week and actually getting paid for 4 days rather than using my holidays to get a full pay cheque!) and doesn't seem too scary!
Still need to work hard to find another chunk to clear CC#1 prior to my target date! It'd be easy if i was willing to drop 'The outings pot' (aka 'The pub pot') to zero but i dont think i am
Biscuits for coffee here are generally chocolate oaties (Ald!s version of hobnobs) but i found yesterday (having ate a handful!) theyre quite salty weirdly so i need some new inspiration and now watching with intent.

Chocolate chip cookies and Happy Faces are biscuits of choice for me.

My payslip wasn’t there yet 😦 they normally load the Wednesday before pay day, but as pay day is next Wednesday it might have thrown them out. I will have to check again tomorrow. Ours have been paperless for years now. Mine is normally exactly the same every month, but this month there is a pathetic bonus instead of a yearly pensionable pay rise ☹️ Not really happy with that, but no choice in the matter and the bonus should hopefully cover my mot and service next month, with a bit over (touch wood). My insurance is due in August. Last year I paid it up front for the first time ever, so I need to continue with that. I had a pot set up which is predictably empty, but I may be able to add in the remaining bonus there.
and now on to biscuits….I used to love milk chocolate malted milks and milk chocolate rich teas…why haven’t I had those for ages?? 🍪Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

My 11yo loves malted milks and shortbread. She's a real biscuit fiend like me. I cant resist any except ginger biscuits and I cannot dunk. There's to be no dunking in my tea!Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

So I'm the only weirdo that makes their own biscuits then? 🤣 I make home made hobnobs - they're a favourite of my best friend and he usually takes a tub full of them home every week. I also make brownies for the HT and he has those with his cuppa instead of biscuits (his partner likes both those and the hobnobs).
My payday is the end of the month or thereabouts. I'm never actually sure when I'm going to be paid - sometimes it's in line with the cafe and other times they just appear. My wages are outsourced as they're to pay for care and my boss wants to keep transparency as they relate to her son's money not her own hence the third party involvement. I work a month ahead in anycase - I have money come in from pensions etc so I collect it up and pay myself a set amount to my current account on the last working day of the month. I tried letting the money just dribble in but it was too stressful trying to figure out if there would be enough for various direct debits on different dates.2 -
Oh that does sound stressful, a set amount is so much easier to work with.
I often make flapjack, but don’t make biscuits very often (and when I do I throw so much chocolate, almonds, cherries, etc at them they aren’t at all MSE).@Naomim I like to dunk…not every time, but sometimes! And no to ginger biscuits? Even gingerbread men?Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Can I still hang around if I have my coffee black without biscuits? 🙃 I had to google some of the ones you've mentioned. I didn't even know chocolate rich tea existed!
I like dark (sorry!) chocolate hobnobs/digestives but can't risk buying them, I can't stop at 1 or 2.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0
