  • Good morning and happy Friday, here at last ☕️☕️☕️
I went up this morning, barely hanging on to the badge! I’ve been around 1200 cals every day, the highest was 1297 and lowest 1195, so I have no idea why it’s not going down. I was hoping to at least manage 1lb a week 😟 I can see this taking a very, very long time 😭
I have been listening to the Harry Potter audio books while I’m in the garden with dog and doing the boring house jobs. I’m on the goblet of fire now. I’ve never read the books, just seen the films (a lot), so I wasn’t sure, but am really enjoying them. They have some laugh out loud humour, helped no doubt by Stephen Fry reading them. I highly recommend. They are easy enough that I can read my books every day without confusing two stories 😅
Tomorrow we have someone coming to hopefully clear the drainpipes and guttering. It will be nice if it’s a cheap fix (fingers crossed) and I can stop squelching around the kitchen garden like it’s some kind of a bog…I wouldn’t be surprised if a well preserved stone age man bobs up at some point 🙄
I have Monday and Tuesday booked off, so it will be a nice long weekend when it starts.
I hope you all have a wonderful day ☕️⭐️

Stephen Fry reading the HP books is just amazing (and any of the books he narrates!).

@WinterWarrior I have lost 2.5 stone since June, in a bid to reverse diabetes which I've managed, luckily.   You are doing brilliantly; are you on a low carb, low sugar diet?  That's what's done it for me. Loving your diary Humdinger xx
  • @CRANKY40 thanks for the welcome. If there’s an apocalypse let’s gang up together and rule the world 🤭
@Humdinger1 that’s amazing, well done! I’m just concentrating on calories with a small nod to a bit more healthy…maybe this is my problem. I’m under the amounts for sugar and carbs most days, have been avoiding bread and limiting the food of the gods (chocolate). I guess I just have to keep at it and not be too miserable when it takes years 😢
@jwil he’s fantastic at all the voices and humour. I’ll look out for more narrated by SF when I’ve finished these.

The weight didn’t go on overnight so won’t drop off overnight…..that’s what I keep telling myself anyway. As long as it’s generally going down you’re a winner 👍

If I've read the books first then the films are almost always a disappointment.  The only way I seem to be able to enjoy the films is if I decuide that the names are just a coincidence.  As for films of the Agatha Christie books, they are just about the worst.

Oh I agree. I have so much rage when they change things. I’m practically spitting feathers 😅

  • I am still ranting about the recent adaption of the Pale Horse where they made the investigator the bad person. Wrong wrong wrong. Very wrong.

I do love the original Joan hickson marples, fairly true to the books and I saw the bbc series before I read most of them which helps

HPs get steadily worse as the books go on for me, harry is angry so he talks in capitals for most of the book. Liked the earlier ones though.
