  • Good morning and happy Monday ☕️☕️☕️
if anyone sees my 5lb badge please can you send it back over?
    It's me! I've got it!

(nothing like a nasty cold and a week of not eating much to kick start a diet.)

Inspired by the effort that everyone else is making I have decided to jump on the weight loss wagon with you. I have lost enough weight to be approved for my knee replacement surgery....well actually I'm only having two new half knees as only the inside half on each leg has been damaged by arthritis. Who knew that half a knee replacement was even a thing?

My BMI had to be below 40 and I've managed 37 so far but it's been the same for the last 2 months. The consultant gave me a Paddington stare and said that I Must Not Put Any Weight On. I feel like I'm on a par with Dog. Dodgy walking, prefers the car to walking, likes food - all food.

The 5 lb badge will be back soon I reckon W W. I asked the House Troll what exercises I needed to do to get rid of what now looks almost like a second bum but on my front (description coined by my aunty after surgery for an ovarian cyst) and he said sit ups. A hundred a day his PE teacher said. Once I'd finished laughing I did ten. I think I'll do ten each day for a week before I try to increase it.

@redofromstart I’ve had a month of not eating much…I clearly need your super powered lurgy!
@CRANKY40 ah, yes the second bum! I was horrified when I caught sight of mine in a mirror while putting socks on and realised why they call it an apron belly 😭 I was very lucky that my horror at my obese bmi was spotted just on the edge so I managed to be overweight quite quickly. If someone had told me ten years ago that I’d be relieved to be classed as overweight 🤣🤣 I am amazed and impressed you did 10 sit-ups. That would kill my back.
Technically they are only replacing one knee there, they’re just sharing it out 🤭 Will they do them both at the same time?
I’m pretty much like dog too,I just snore a bit less.

You can see why a labrador fitted so easily into our house when we were younger - the only thing our lab wouldn't eat was lettuce. I've had the pre op tests which are valid for 6 months so the first knee should be done in that time. Three to six months after that they will do the other one hopefully.

They're doing them as day cases under a spinal anaesthetic and the consultant asked if there was an adult at home to look after me. Well the HT is 18 but I'm not sure about the looking after bit. He will probably bring me things if I text him 🤣🤣🤣 I will also need collecting from the hospital after the op. Best friend has offered but I've said he has to bring the HT with him. Best friend hasn't lived here that long and tends to get a bit lost even with satnav. Surely between the two of them they can find me and fetch me home. You'd think so wouldn't you? I'm not that sure though.

My back is a law unto itself. Some things are not good but you never can tell. If I do aerobics (last tried a long, long time ago) then switch to floor exercises it feels like I'm lying on something when I lie down. Like the Princess and the pea except the Princess is more like Fiona from Shrek and the pea is a smallish pebble from the beach. I really need to stop thinking in "cartoon"
  • Dog here famously doesn’t like peanut butter! Or lettuce 😬
I think those boys might be ok with directions written down, any money they need for parking, and explicit instructions on where to go to find you 🤭
I can throw my back out just getting out of bed, but then it will be ok for years. I did the damage trying to move a full double wardrobe on my own when I was young and daft(er).

  • Good morning and happy Tuesday.
Redo…I must insist you give me my 5lb badge back! I consumed 1250 calories yesterday and went up 0.1 this morning 😖 it’s having a laugh 🤭
7am this morning there was a big crackly bang and the power went off, then the loudest thunderclap over the house and then the power came back, but it’s done some damage. MrWW is resetting everything, cursing and coming in to report issues with various bits 😖 Possibly lightening hit the sky dish. And then it followed through with a massive hailstorm.
The boy cat with the girls name was dancing on the windowsill begging for breakfast in the storm, he’s a bonkers little thing.
I hope you all have a good day ⭐️☕️☕️☕️

When I was a little girl our TV aerial was struck by lightning. The bang was horrendous then the TV lead set on fire. It was so frightening.

Hope you get your pesky badge back soon.

The router fried, but luckily we have an old back up until the replacement arrives. Then some input socket thing on the surround sound which can luckily be bypassed another way, as that would be very expensive to replace 😖 There was a frazzled smell, but luckily no fire.
If I keep playing the ‘where’s my badge gone’ game, but with the next one up each week then I guess I can live with that 😅
    It’s very haily today!
Edit: I did the payday shuffle and have moved some ambitious savings over towards my years target. If anything happens I may need to move some back,  but I’ll sit it there for now.
Fingers crossed for everyone on the pb’s draws in the next few days ⭐️
