Good morning and happy Thursday ☕️
0.1 of a pound down today…it makes it all worthwhile 😬
I spent £25 yesterday on some flowers for a good friend whose husband has passed away after fighting an amazing fight for many years. So very sad. Once I’d ordered I got an email saying the delivery was delayed until Saturday, which is so annoying. I would have bought from another supplier if they’d been honest about the date when I placed the order. I went through Am*zn though, so not much I could do after the notification…my own fault for quickly/lazily using somewhere I already had the delivery address saved into! They were good value…and this close to payday I really don’t want to take back from savings. This is the trouble with leaving myself a very tight spending pot and putting savings away at the beginning, but I know if I left myself more I would probably just go through it, so it works better to know I don’t have a lot.
Nothing much planned today apart from work and starvation, starvation and work 🤭

Sorry to hear about your friend’s husband. Lovely thought to send her flowers. I didn’t know you could order flowers from Amazon, I usually use Lovely Flora World they’re very reasonable but not always speedy.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I am really liking the diet App, thanks for sharing. Still on the free trial.53 calories in a small chocolate, and 83 in a glass of Prosecco apparently (co op Irresistible - £10 for box of chocs and wine... ). I find the calories really mount up when you start on the beige stuff.1200 target for me too. I am weighing things rather than guesstimating. 30g of cheese is tiny.
I did really well in SW red years back, mostly because I also stopped eating anything beige and followed the half of every plate should be veg. Amuses me the pictures of some lovely looking 'SW' platefuls but with hardly any veg.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

WW - you're doing really well with the calorie counting, you must have a lot of will power. I have now stopped with all diets and just try to eat a much better, varied diet and it seems to be working 🙂 I'm not losing weight but I'm not putting any on either, so I'm happy with that.

I love your diet tips @redofromstart. To add my own, if you have a very small tea you can spend the remaining calories on a single ferrero and 2 biscuits 🤭. I had a very lazy ready meal as MrWW is on nights, but it consisted of 2 baked potatoes with some cheesy topping for 440 cals. I decided to just have half and eat the remaining calories in treats 😅 Mind you, I would have had more left if I hadn’t eaten that Cadbury’s cream egg at lunch 🤣 Its not been a sensible eating day, but I still have 26 calories left! When I’m being sensible the calories really mount up by including fruit! I have had a multi vitamin so I’m ok 😬
I have no real willpower @nannygladys, but the obese bmi really horrified me! I’m safely overweight now, which is much better. I would really like to get back to being shapely, rather than just ‘a shape’ (round, if you were wondering) and I’d like to still have a neck when I look down, instead of just a series of chins 🙄
That Prosecco is starting to sound really good value for the weekend 🍹Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Sorry! I agree though, if that treat is important to you then save the calories. Cutting out potatoes makes sense anyway. I managed 5.2/5 on my F&V today which is a minor miracle. Cucumber and satsumas are surprisingly low.Really like the bar code scanning. Much simpler. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Berries are really low as well. When I did my short stint at calorie counting, I discovered that my big bowl of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with greek yoghurt was something like 200 calories. Satisfying and blooming lush too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Good morning and happy Friday 🥳☕️☕️
0.4 down this morning. Still hoping I can get my 5lb badge tomorrow with a later weigh in 😬 1lb a week is pretty bad for all this effort, but slow and steady (whether I like it or not) and all that 🙄
I will try and get some fruit & veg today @redofromstart. At the very least there’s a banana with my name on it 🤣 I think I’ve only made it over the 5 about 7 days this month, I’m terrible.
I did spend some money yesterday night, on an electric hair curler thing which I had and can’t find. I have a feeling I binned it in a fit of decluttering as I’d only used it once, but now I want to use it again! Oh foolish WW! Also got some hair bobbles and some curler twisty things that I’ve had in my saved basket for months ( a bit like the foam rods only material outside). I have no idea why I suddenly had a (nearly £50) binge on hair stuff, but I did and I don’t feel regretful yet. I haven’t splashed out on anything silly all month and I will pay myself back on Tuesday. Part of my trouble is that MrWW has a new hobby and has been buying bits left, right and centre for it (all the gear, no idea) and it makes me question saving every penny….which is ridiculous as I know why I’m saving, but there’s also the fear that if some big house repair came along I would be the only one with funds to pay it.I hope you all have a fantastic Friday ☕️⭐️🌟Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

1lb a week is good, don’t knock it. If you lost huge amounts in a short period it would just go back on as soon as you started eating normally. I eat loads of veg, not so much fruit. I’d happily eat a plate of veg and nothing else.I decluttered a make up holder thing a while ago and now need it back 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Glad it’s not just me with the decluttering. The things I have languishing in drawers are never needed!I like veg, but I struggle with it at home. It seems to take effort to prepare and apart from adding butter I never know how to make it different. I always enjoy it when someone else has made it. I think I need to investigate more vegetable based recipes. I usually struggle with cook books as I’m always missing at least one key ingredient! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
