  • I still can’t get over The Bone Collector. Such a wonderful twisty thriller with such likeable (good) characters. Both the film and the series after it changed everything…looks, height, race, gender, back stories…there was nothing they didn’t meddle with in some shape or another, grrr.  I also loved the True Blood novels, I’ve re-read them many times, but hardly managed one episode of the tv series…they turned it into !!!!!! 😮 and changed so much. No, no, no!
For the HP audios, if Mr Fry starts shouting I’ll know he’s got to the shouty writing 😁

When I read Kiss the Girls it disturbed me for a long time but the film didn’t have the same effect.

I wonder if upping your calories allowance for a few days will boost your metabolism. I suspect your body is going into starvation survival mode as your calorie intake seems very low. Still, on the plus side, you’ve lost 5lbs which isn’t too shabby.

  • All the trackers say 1200, so I was trying to stick around there. I know from past experience that I need less to stay the same than the average. They say 2000 for women, but anything over 16 or 1700 seems to have me piling it back on 😖 You could be right though as I seem to drop a bit more if we go out for lunch.
Books can be very disturbing. Salems Lot sticks in my mind for the fear factor.
in other news I am trying the foamy twisty curlers in while MrWW is on nights (so I’m not mocked 🤣). I could have done with an extra pair of hands so I could end up looking like anything from an aging Shirley Temple to a Granny Weatherwax….I’m hoping for something more glamorous, but we shall see 🤭

The Shining sticks in my mind for sheer terror.  I read it at 16 or 17; I was literally frozen with fear...couldn't move without help.  The film was bad enough (very close to the book from memory) but the book took the biscuit. Love Humdinger xx

I think I need to re-read some early Stephen King now! 😁
Good morning and happy Saturday ☕️☕️ The scales took a welcome dive, but still 0.2 to get the next badge (humph). Some of my hair curls were still damp this morning leaving a wild crystal tips style when they’d all been separated out 😅 I think I’ll be able to calm them down into something very acceptable. It doesn’t take much to bring out my natural curl and these soft curly roller things were very easy and not too awkward to sleep in.
We have the drain people here, they seem to have come without any tools, so MrWW is in and out having to lend them things! Ok if they manage to fix it as they were surprisingly good value, but painful if it’s beyond them. They are making so much noise dog has even heard them and is yelling at them through the window 🤣
I treated myself to a couple of things from My*kka as I had such a good savings month last month. A lovely (and ridiculously pricey for me) pheasant cushion, which will go with nothing in the house, but I love it and a smallish wonderfully decorated mirror. I ummed and ahhed for a bit, but decided this is a perk for being debt free - that I can have the odd unnecessary purchase guilt free (and I got 10% off for a new customer).
I hope you all have a lovely Saturday ⭐️🌟

And what, pray, is wrong with Crystal Tips?! That is my go-to look...so easily achieved.  As the first hairdresser I had with the same hair as me said 'Just rejoice in the curl...stop fighting it'.  A wise woman

I was very curly as a tot, but left to it’s own devices it’s just messy now. I have to either make it curl or straighten it to look like a sane member of society and not a wild bag lady 😅 if yours proper curls by itself you are very lucky 🌟

I always wanted curly hair. Mine is straight but has one bit with a kink which just sticks out wildly as I’ve got older. Much easier to keep it short.
