I've been helping the HT fill in apprenticeship applications. I've also done 3 washloads worth of ironing and put everything away. I'm now making an early dinner because the HT announced at 3:50pm that we could leave the rest of the applications until tomorrow (no we can't, he's in college and I'm working) and it was dinner time anyway and he was starving (no it wasn't and I told him to have a snack to keep him alive until we finished). The trade off for compliance with my unreasonable demands on his person was to start making dinner as soon as we finished on the pc.1

@CRANKY40 oh you’re so mean…that poor little starving mite, I’m surprised he didn’t faint! Are you having to make a massive feast now?@Onebrokelady recommended nutracheck to @milann on her page and I got sucked in to joining the free trial and playing with the app. I feel I should announce that I have not used up all available calories (good), but only squeaked in 3 of the 5 a day (bad). It has spurred me on so I think I will splash out on the yearly subscription (£23.99 on offer). It’s like a posh MyFitnessPal and I have linked up my Fitbit now. I plan to have a look through the forum and recipe ideas. It may help me get excited about the just over 2 stones I need to lose.MrWW is on nights, so I’m just waiting for mastermind to start 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

The podcast I listen to (Secret World of Slimming Clubs) often mention Nutracheck and how good it is. I think £23.99 for a year is good if you get use from it. Don’t expect to make huge leaps of progress straight away just the fact it’s making you mindful of what you’re eating is a great start.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

@SusieT this is clearly an exercise regime I’ve been missing out on 🤣
@Sun_Addict I really must listen to that podcast! And yes, I think just the process of listing everything (and thinking twice about choosing bad things) will help a lot. Hopefully I’ll recoup the £23.99 fairly quickly by not buying snacks. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I don’t mind paying for apps if they help me. I pay £19.99 a year for my Feel Better app (as a legacy member) and £6.95 a month for my WW app (as a lifetime gold member) both worth every penny as I use them loads. I practically live in my WW app 😆 £23.99 is only £2 a month so well worth it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

That sounds like a splendid way to spend a sunny day @SusieT
Another thing to look at @WinterWarrior but it sounds like a sensible one to me.
Funnily enough I was muttering to Mr Redo this morning about missing Fitbit, they might have been incapable of sorting out the steps competition on the App but the non watch trackers worked well for me because I am (very) competitive, as is my good friend @greenbee. I don't really like wearing a watch so haven't been that tempted by his previous model fruity watch. It did make me do more steps and was money well spent. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I looked at nutracheck but I’m not good with apps and technology. I’d probably be ok the first week but my phone can lie in the pit of my handbag for days undetected. I’m going to stick to real life SW me thinks. It did look interesting though. We’ve been to a seaside town an hour or so away for a walk along the front, fish and chips in my fave cafe and a ride along the illuminations as they switch them off today until next year. Had a lovely day 😃January spends - £587.582
