Check ‘View your calculation’ for the amount which is due. There is no ‘estimated amount’ as you suggest.
The message is correct as, at this point, no tax is indeed payable as it is not due until 31st January 2022. The account will be updated shortly before that date.
Found it thanks. Is there any reason not to pay it now /before its due?,will it automatically be applied to the bill when it becomes due?. Its less than £1000 and I have the money saved for it.
No reason at all. It will be shown as a credit and a small amount of interest will be earned on your account though until the amount is automatically debited to it (to answer your second question). Hopefully HMRC won’t refund it as happens occasionally.

I don't think you get repayment supplement if you voluntarily pay tax before the due date?

Yes - you are correct. They definitely used to though and, presumably, still do if payments on account are subsequently reduced upon filing one’s return? The ? signifies that I am not sure.

If you pay a payment on account on time that is more than is owed, you will get repayment supplement. That is why I have deliberately not asked for a refund of mine. I can't easily better an utterly secure 0.5% tax free return.

You could put the money away in a separate bank account and pay when due.

So they received all my documents back on the 28/05/21 was told would be completed by the 19/07/21. Just been in contact with them as this date has passed and now been passed on to a specialist team with a new date of 13/08/21.
