Some repayments are selected for security checks to ensure the repayment is correct and going to the correct person.
Yours will be added to the queue waiting to be dealt with.
It will depend how many are in front of you and how many staff are available to deal with the cases.
This is one of the busiest times for HMRC as staff holidays reduce numbers.never the current problems with covid absences etc.
As explained they hope the repayment will be dealt with before the timeline of 6 weeks but nobody can tell you when.
There is no saying if someone got theirs in a week that you would get yours in a week.
Expect it in 6 weeks and you'll be pleasantly surprised if it turns up earlier.
