It probably wouldn't occur to me to mention the washer is in the garage, and I'd be the vendor in this scenario.

It's very common in "bungalow-land" in my village, for washers and dryers to be in the garage, as the garage is very narrow.

It's a 70s built estate of bungalows, where the garage is only a brick wider than the door. You'd get a car in there, but opening the car door would be fun.

Wonder if the OP is buying near me.

How is a washing machine a kitchen appliance?
    How is it not?

Not sure if UK regs allow but IIRC I've seen a bathroom where what you might think is the airing cupboard contained a stacked washing machine and dryer. Much better place than the kitchen.

My understanding is that washing machines are allowed in bathrooms, as long as the manufacturer says they are suitable, and the mains switches are outside the room.

In our first house the washer and dryer were upstairs in the bathroom. Turned out to be the most sensible place.
The place I am hoping to put an offer in for has this set up. At first I thought it was odd, now it seems sensible (though not something I've come across before).
Indeed, very strange to have a shower, handbasin and toilet in that kitchen.
Hehe! Was responding to a quote about having a washing machine in the bathroom but who knows, after reading this thread a WC in the kitchen seems like it could be possible...

Not seen a WC in a kitchen but once saw a house where the only shower was in a cubicle in the middle of the kitchen. The one bog was outside.

Wow...I suppose you could take a shower while keeping an eye on dinner!

Is it for the express purpose of tipping that instant coffee down?
