PS absolutely not bad practice by EA. Up to you to ask or look closer at pics or descriptions. A house won't be sold with the presumption that ''everyday items are in normal places".
Agreed, not an EA issue at all.
Besides, what are 'normal places'?   Personally, I wouldn't consider a kitchen to be a 'normal place' for a washing machine and presumably nor would the vendor in this case, which is why it's in the 'utility' or 'laundry' room, albeit in a garage.
I understand that in some places, there are homes without utility rooms, laundries, sculleries or garages. Where on earth is the washing machine meant to go then? I'll have to ask my housekeeper  :p

When I was a lot poorer my studio flat had no washing machine, you had to use a laundrette. It only had a baby belling table top cooker with oven.

You were lucky! I spent 7 months renting a room in a Jersey HMO where the only kitchen item I had was a kettle!  30p in the slot to heat water for a shower, and a schlepp to the launderette half a mile away.

with that sort of rounds trip you need to do a lot more filtering/research before you get in the car.

EA details asking lots of questions if you can't see stuff you need to know about.
previous sale details  not always there
    street view
maps(satellite) views,  better if you use the 3d options sometimes.
Planning portal to check is nay works done. and what else is a going on if not that familiar with the area.
Sometimes has potential plot boundaries so you can see things along with maps like how wide a drive is any shared spaces etc.

Silly me! Of course a kitchen is just for the cooking applicances. One has the laundry room for the laundry, the boot room for the boots, the games room, smoking room, butlers pantry etc etc. Garage and of course the stables.
Sorry I really wasn't thinking when I suggested that a washing machine could ever be considered as a 'kitchen appliance' - perhaps those of you with more knowledge on the matter could write to all the major retailers who also make the mistake of listing washing machines under 'kitchen appliances'??

Whether a washing machine is a kitchen appliance or not is irrelevant.

It's relevant now because several people have stated that a washing machine could never possibly be considered to be something to find in a kitchen. They obviously live in palatial homes with plenty of space for dedicated laundry rooms etc.
I keep my wine in the kitchen - I guess I will be told off for that, it should of course be kept in the wine cellar!
