NSD 16. Did some shed sorting sitting down. Used mum's grabber stick to pick up plastic bottles and had a large plastic sack hung over one of the dolly trolleys for putting them in. Picked up loads of drill bits, screws, nails, dowels, the plastic things you put in the wall to screw into (rawlplugs edited). Threw last two handfuls away. I'm sure it's just my imagination as I've scrubbed my hands multiple times but I keep thinking I smell mouse wee (small amount of dust, shredded paper and the odd tiny poo pellet swept from the whole shed). There is a large but fairly flimsy crate in there and will use that to repack some of the jigsaws to make them easier to transport. Collected together some of the hooks (there are a couple of curtain tie back things that I saved to make a holder for the garden umbrella) in one yoghurt pot. Will try to put some of them up tomorrow.
Two of the raised beds are in place and part filled. Levelling turned out to be very easy - I was only about 6 chippings out. The third bed will have to wait until mum's washing line pole has been moved. Will do more soil moving tomorrow and move the third raised bed off the table so I can paint more boards, buckets and other containers after drilling drainage holes. Have a pile of emptied small containers already. Found I could lift and throw them - almost a shot putt technique but not so high. Last job of the day was a choice between moving 7 small containers or 2 very large ones (40 l bucket and a tall kitchen bin). Did the two large ones - I'm trying to empty all the things I want painting - left the soil in the builders bag for now.Took it in stages and sat down to rest and have a drink when I ran out of puff. I am tired but not hurting.
Food has been lovely. Found the last portion of the lamb curry I made and added the last 2 huge mushrooms. Defrosted the last of the berries (some ice cream left, may have it during the week with tinned fruit). Took out some marinated chicken and had it on a bun. Wrote the used up items on the shopping list, if they need replacing. There is some lamb or beef already sliced for tomorrow's dinner. Will cook extra veg to use in batch cooking (may just have a sandwich for my other meal tomorrow). had a chat with my niece when she came to collect the cards. She will come back to have a chat with mum sometime after work.
Today I am grateful for a nice gentle start to the day (started to break my morning preparations down into small groups of tasks), getting to read a chunk of my book, lovely food, sitting in the shade, raised beds looking good.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage3 -
Saturday- still on NSD 13, had to get more fresh veg for the bunnies and bought some bits and pieces of food for the humans as well. Timed the shop just right and got loads of yellow stickered green veg for the bunnies.
Was working most of the day, then had a lovely dog walk in the sun with my mum and DD.
Grateful today for time for a walk, good friends willing to give up their time to help me out and my cat lying snoozing on my knee.5 -

Thinking of you @foxholes with your hayfever, hope it settles/eases.
A gorgeous day yesterday, very warm. Hubby had a few walks around the garden & looked at his seedlings in the greenhouse & cold frame (I've managed to keep the majority of them alive!). I was very energetic. Using home made compost, I mulched a one large & two small borders in the front garden, then emptied the over flowing compost bin into the empty one to aerate it. Pleased with how good its been breaking down.
Grateful for hubby being physically stronger than I'd thought, a sunny day, receiving a box in the post from a friend containing a wish bracelet, keyring, badge, chocolate, teabag & pampering things all with phrases to give me a boostUse it up, wear it out

Sunday- NSD 14, I'm claiming it now as I'm going nowhere now and the village shop is shut so I should be safe.
Spent a lot of time outside today, lawns mowed 1.5, lawnmowers on fire 1, thoughts of just paying someone to deal with the grass several hundred 🙀. After the smoke pouring out of the mower incident I attempted to continue with the "other mower" but it's a teeny thing and was digging up chunks rather than cutting. I am now looking for a decent lawn mower that won't destroy my "garden fund" as I had much more interesting plans for that money than a mower 🤣.
Also got the shed a bit more organised so I can actually get to everything without removing half the contents to get to the back.
Grateful today- that the front grass that can be seen is cut and looks OK (the back 😱😱😱😱😱), DD has spent time skipping, trampolining and generally enjoyed being outdoors, shelving in the shed.5 -
Afternoon turtles, claiming an NSD now as no shops open and I don't need anything anyway. Went for a swim first thing and then went horse riding. Only a short one as it was SO WINDY but the sun was lovely as well. He has finally started behaving himself again which always helps.
Came home, and haven't done much else other than accidentally fall asleep on the sofa lol. Done my weekly covid test (anyone else do these "just in case" even though they've been vaccinated?) but nothing else to do as I got all my jobs done yesterday so just going to chill and read a book.4 -
NSD 11 - knocked some jobs off the list, one just ended up as a crazed hammer attack, but the result was what mattered.Biryani for supper after the football, then folding all the lovely laundry (yawn) and finally, melting old candles to make new candles, then setting fire to said candles at a later date. Future candles.Tidied outside space (yard) and lined the home made planters with heavy duty plastic, now just have to paint them, and they can be filled and planted. Finally feeling like I am getting somewhere - oh, and replaced a broken slat on DS4s bed. All in all, a good day of progress.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful that dd talks to me, for being able to help some friends, for getting the lawns mowed, for a walk with dd, for the restorative power of a good bath.
