  • After waking for what seems like an eternity, yesterday I heard I need to provide more documents as I just started a new job back in November. Sent straight back, but been told to wait 2 days for HSBC to have a look. Valuation is supposed to happen tomorrow so fingers crossed we get some good news before the weekend! Really don’t want to be entertaining our fourth week of waiting😬😬

Really hope everyone else is have a better experience!!!

Good morning! I just harassed my broker again this morning asking them when the offer will come through. So lets see what happens. They are pretty responsive so far but looking at the timeline of other people here mine is one of the slowest. So far my timeline is below:

26th Jan - Submitted all documents to Heron

27th Jan - Received a notification from Heron that application is formally submitted and currently with the underwriter. Credit searches done by HSBC.

1st Feb - Received notification via Heron that valuation is being done.

7th Feb - There was no news until the 7th when they asked for one more month bank statement which I provided straight away.

10th Feb - They ask for my spouse’s Jan bank statement that we provided straight away.

14th Feb - Heron said that the mortgage is approved pending extra valuation paperworks required from agent/seller.

    17th Feb - Still waiting …

    Update with mine

-Two soft searches prior to application on the 1st Feb (I assume the broker got an AIP)
    -Application went in 2nd Feb
-Same day 2nd Feb, one soft search and one hard search
-Valuation done on 8th Feb which came back ok.
    -Four soft searches 16th
    -More documents requested 16th

Hopefully something will happen this week. :#
17th more details requested and another soft check run! They seem to be going quick now.

My broker came back with the following:

We are still awaiting the lender signing off the EWS1 Form and covering letter, which was sent over at the beginning of this week.

In all honesty, we likely won't have the offer until early next week in the best case scenario purely due to the service levels for assessments of EWS1 forms taking so long, but I will chase this today and tomorrow as well just to be sure.

So they are saying best case scenario is next week. That would be 4 weeks after my application. This is taking forever! 😡
