    Hi All,

I have been following this Forum since Friday in a hope to ease my curiousness as I was waiting for an answer from HSBC.

Below is my timeline if its helps anyone

    - Made application through Broker on 24th Jan

    - Survey booked for 27th Jan

    - Physical survey conducted and approved on 27th Jan

    - 31st Jan, asked more supportive document

I heard nothing after this and my broker kept chasing HSBC in the week of 7th Feb in hope for answer and he kept got the same answer saying its in the queue for audit.

    - 15th Feb - offer received via email

I am over the moon and i hope those waiting get the desired answer they need.

Thanks for update and good news

I heard nothing since valuation a week ago so good to know it can take longer.

So after the encouraging news from my broker on Monday I haven't heard anything back. If I still haven't got a formal offer by Thursday night I will contact my broker again because Thursday would be the end of my 3rd week since full application was submitted and if I don't get an official offer by Friday then most likely it will carry over to the next week which would make it 4 weeks since full application was submitted. My broker Heron Financial is not terrible per se, they normally reply to emails and phone calls on the same day but I feel like 3 weeks is a bit long also I still have to do quite a bit of nudging to get news. So if you happen to come across them just keep that in mind that it takes a long time, maybe if you're not anxious like me it would be fine but I feel like I'm losing hair while waiting.
  • @666666 we are in a similar position. Our application went in on the 27th and we haven’t heard anything since Monday when HSBC asked the broker whether I was going back to work on the same pay and he answered yes straight away. Broker said he will give three five working days to get back to him which would be this Monday coming but I don’t have that sort of patience!

@AilieG01 I am curious, did you get introduced to your broker by the estate agent or did you find them yourself? Mine was introduced by the estate agent and I actually compared them to 2 other brokers and decided to go with them due to the no fee and also they have the best rate with HSBC but honestly I'm not particularly happy with our estate agent either.
  • @666666 no we picked them ourselves. We bought another house a year ago and used L&C then too and swore we would never use them again. Here we are using them again and moaning about the same things.
They don’t check the portal for updates unless we contact them and if we upload any documents they allow hsbc five working days to get back to them.
So once when I contacted them on Monday they said hsbc has requested something the Wednesday before!!
  • It must be really hit and miss - L&C have been ok for me so far. However, I mainly deal with an advisor, not a case manager, since my advisor said to me she would prefer I just contact her as she can act quickly. Now that I have received the mortgage offer, I have been liaising with a case manager, and his customer service skills are a bit lacking - but nothing too horrendous.

    Update with mine

-Two soft searches prior to application on the 1st Feb (I assume the broker got an AIP)
    -Application went in 2nd Feb
-Same day 2nd Feb, one soft search and one hard search
-Valuation done on 8th Feb which came back ok.
    -Four soft searches 16th
    -More documents requested 16th

Hopefully something will happen this week. :#

Hi all,  Still Waiting for an offer. Just had a phone call off my MB. He said he had to submit an application amendment form last Friday due to the down valuation, He said I won't hear anything until Tuesday/Wednesday next week 😡
So hopefully I will get my offer next week. This is taking over my life, The vendor who I know, is on my case for an expected completion date.
