  • Hi! New to MSE but have been religiously looking at this post for the past week!

Here is my timeline so far:
    Offer accepted: 25th Jan
Mortgage application sent off: 31st Jan

On the 10th Feb, I was asked to provide a letter with my confirmed start date of my job (I started in November 2021), which I immediately sent over, and we haven't heard anything back re. our documents.

Valuation was booked for 11th Feb but has been moved to the 17th Feb. We weren't told about the date swap until EOP 11th when I asked my broker if she knew how it went!

One of the most stressful times :(

Welcome @messyjessy7 My broker is yet to reply to my email this morning. I looked at HSBC Intermediaries website and they changed the processing days, new application from 12 to 13 w/d and responding to broker's messages from 4 w/d to 6 w/d though really the broker can just call them as the call waiting time is only 86 seconds. Assessing supporting documents supposed to only take 1 day yet I'm still waiting ...  :s

So my broker just called me one minute ago that HSBC has told them our mortgage has been approved subject to valuation. She said valuation has been done and it came back fine but HSBC wants to see another document so hopefully once that document is sent off they can push HSBC to produce the offer this week. Obviously this is a great news but until I get that offer in my hands (text/email) I'm still not feeling 100% assured  :D here's hoping we get the official offer this week. I will keep updating until I actually get the offer.

I hope you guys will hear encouraging news soon too! xx
  • So happy for you @666666

Hopefully it won't be long until you that get that text and email!

Thank you so much @propertyhunter honestly it takes a weight off my shoulder even though I am a very pessimistic person so I'm still thinking what if the broker lies  :D
  • Hi All!!
Been reading through this thread because I am too awaiting with worry to hear some news!

My timeline so far has been:

7th Jan - DIP with Nationwide
    15th Jan - house viewing
    17th Jan - offer accepted
20th Jan - full mortgage application
3rd Feb - mortgage offer declined (because of a financial connection I had on my report (I wasn’t aware of this))
7th Feb - DIP with HSBC
8th Feb - asked Experian to remove the financial connection (as there are no shared finances) - was told this would take up to 7 days but still heard nothing
10th Feb - full mortgage application with HSBC

I can see on my Experian account that a couple of soft searches have been done by HSBC. My broker said that they didn’t expect to hear back from them until the end of the week.
I was really hoping that the financial connection would’ve been removed by now! This is like an emotional and stressful rollercoaster!!
  • @666666 That’s great news!!

I phoned today for an update and HSBC are looking for six pay slips from before I went on maternity showing my income including commission. Not sure why when the commission wasn’t used when working out the affordability. They also asked would I be back on the same hours and same pay. Valuation was completed last week and all good with that.
Surely they can’t ask for much more now?!?

@AilieG01 I really hate the fact that they ask for one thing at a time. That really bothers me. Sounds to me like HSBC doesn’t have one point of contact for each client and just pass files around to whoever work that day. That’s what I’m worried about because one person can come in one day say OK and then next day someone else come in and want to see something else but honestly I feel like broker should have vetted our circumstance and documents before they submitted to the lender. I hope you hear good news soon! Must be so frustrating 😭
  • @666666 that’s the third time we have been asked for more documents. A few of the documents L&C already had asked us for but hadn’t submitted for whatever reason.
Surely hsbc would get the applications through quicker if they went over the whole thing and picked out everything that was required.
I’m hoping since the service levels claim it’s only 1 working day to assess supporting documents that we can’t be far away.
  • Hi All,

I have been following this Forum since Friday in a hope to ease my curiousness as I was waiting for an answer from HSBC.

Below is my timeline if its helps anyone

    - Made application through Broker on 24th Jan

    - Survey booked for 27th Jan

    - Physical survey conducted and approved on 27th Jan

    - 31st Jan, asked more supportive document

I heard nothing after this and my broker kept chasing HSBC in the week of 7th Feb in hope for answer and he kept got the same answer saying its in the queue for audit.

    - 15th Feb - offer received via email

I am over the moon and i hope those waiting get the desired answer they need.
