In my case I had an issue because they failed to add a roll number for my provider in the transfer request - so my provider wasn't clear which account to do the transfer from. Like Nationwide itself my current provider has a general bank account number and sort code and a roll number for the personal account number - so the need to supply a roll number shouldn't be a surprise for Nationwide!pbartlett said:just a heads up - if you get a text from nwide saying there was a problem transferring your isa from virgin money the solution is to call the number in the text and tell them the provider is yorkshire bank not virgin money
This resulted in me having to intervene between the two providers to sort it out. I expect they are overloaded - but basic errors like this waste time!

Yes I had the same problem with transferring from Charter Bank as they use Barclays Bank as their account number and I had only entered my roll number so NW asked me to get the Barclays bank account number and sort code plus the roll number from Charter and tell them what it was, which I did and hopefully will transfer in June when my Charter ISA term ends.Rich2808 said:

I have tried multiple ISA transfers to and from Nationwide since the pandemic started - every time an issue or problem or it didn't happen smoothly (or in two cases never at all so I gave up).pbartlett said:the isa team at nwide should really know the charter sb sort code and account number by now !
By contrast my experience with smaller providers with far fewer staff has been a lot smoother.
Hopefully things will have improved in 18 months if I need to transfer out!0 -
Is it the generic Charter barclays sort code and acct number that Nationwide need for Charter transfers?0

I am transferring a Charter ISA and only give Nationwide my Charter "Account" no. Charter have advised me they have the request and awaiting the maturity date (tomorrow) so the Barclay codes can't really be required (as they obviously know them).Richchad said:

            What's Nationwide speed currently like
a) Getting new new ISAs open for existing customers?
b) Getting transfers completed?
Around this time last year they were very slow.0 -

I'm a current Nationwide customer and my Sainsburys Bank Cash ISA was transferred to this Nationwide ISA in 8 days, which included the Easter bank holiday weekend. My previous experiences of transferring cash ISAs to and from other institutions is that they involved posting paper forms and possibly even cheques between the providers, so took a couple of weeks. I'm presuming the Sainsburys to Nationwide transfer was so quick because Sainsburys Bank was on their approved list and the process was completely electronic.epm-84 said:What's Nationwide speed currently like

Same with me. Also no new account is showing in the Nationwide app and nothing under an 'applications' section in the app.Baoser said:I applied for an account yesterday (11th April). As of today (12th), I've not had an email to confirm the application yet. I'm transferring from Virgin Money.
I'm sure the last time I opened a new Nationwide account it showed a new account in the app within 24 hours of applying.0
