Lovely to have you back again, delighted to hear of your cheque. Bearing in mind that I am not at all au fait with the UK welfare system, I think that you should consider putting the money off your overdraft...I would even try to put the emergency fund off it as well and clear it asap. I would shout long and hard and frequently to all who may have any influence on hurrying up your bathroom remodelling. Shouting loudly and often is definitely the way to go...a letter every two weeks and follow up phone call in between should have them saying ' oh give that **tch her shower to get her off our backs!!'

Glad to hear that you are using your all singing all dancing sewing machine...any pics of your work?

Ooooo Taplady, I've just seen those pictures....your DS really is a v.lucky boy. How awful for your neighbours to lose their son, what a horrible reminder for us all to not take life for granted.

Stef, have you tried taking the batteries out of the remote, or even taking it with you when you go out and he's in the house?
