Hi all,
Yeugghh! It’s absolutely horrible outside! I took dd down to her Saturday job and braved the Saturday market. Now I’m soaked through and frozen solid! It’s wet and blowing a gale here so I think I’ll pass on any more shopping today. I have plenty to do in the house though as Mil has informed us that she’s flying in for an impromptu visit later this week. _pale_
Haribo, Snowy and Aussie, I bet you three are shattered this morning.:D
catowen, have a good day with your mum.
Jannyannie, Have a great time in Lapland…honestly, I’m not even slightly jealous!
Pipkin, ((Hugs)) it must be so difficult for you but as others have said, it might be worth trying to get your mum to go to her GP.
Nels, have a great time with your parents tonight…the cheese and pate joint sounds fabulous.
The boys are awake now and asking me for French toast for breakfast, so I’d better go and make it…
Take care,
Pink0 -

DD2 had a good day yesterday they went to the xmas market in Lille but because the bridge was closed at Dartford kids being sick and so on they managed to spend just 45 mins there:mad: so £40 not well spent never mind she had a good day

Hello everybody,
Just got home from the bbq. It was lovely. Had a huge piece of pav just before I left. I also polished off a bottle of redwhich I shared with DH. It was so hot here after lunch but had a cool morning. Did the floors, made soup, and a pineapple sour cream slice which everyone ate. So no leftovers for tomorrow. Pigs they were.
Pink It's my night time now. I was on at the reasonable hour of ten oclock while I was partaking my morning tea.It was Snowy & Haribo that was up late.
Pipkin I think I would have said that too. I don't think she would mean it like that though. She would be looking inward and not even thinking outward atm iykwim. Hugs.
Cat Hope you have a nice visit with your Mum & Nelski too.
:santa2:Mrs Mix
(((hugs))) to those that are still feeling poorly. Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning everyone
You are right Pink, it's a horrible wet and windy day here in Norn Iron so like yourself I won't be bothering with any Christmas shopping. I'll possibly brave Sprucefield (big shopping area) tomorrow. My mother wants some new jammies for Xmas. She wants dark coloured ones, why oh why doesn't she want a colour jimjams actually come in?? At least she told me what she wants - that's a refreshing change. Lets hope that the new pj's don't end up on the shelf beside the v.v.dusty breadmaker.
Pipkin, sorry, the above paragraph is a little tongue in cheek and lighthearted and I hope it hasn't upset you. I would be horrified if my mother went through anything like what your mum is going through. I don't think it would be selfish at all to say to her "what about us". You are her family and maybe it would help her to hear how important she is to all of you. Also if that is clear to her then she may start to see that her feelings are coming from inside of her, rather than being imposed on her by others. It does sound like she needs some help, and I hope she will accept it when it is offered. Oh and please don't feel you need to apologise for what you say on Old Style - we are here for each other, and if it helps to unburden here, then go ahead. We have a lot of collective experience, and maybe someone will offer some very useful tried and tested advice for you.
Pink - me, a sore head???? Nahhhh! Must have been the four mince pies I had for dinner:o
H'Bo JunkHead...congrats on getting your leccy bill down so much, just shows you how it's definitely worth making an effort.
Pen, what fantastically generous friends you have! Did I misunderstand, but did they give you lots of pressies and vouchers on top of paying for the meal which cost about £70 each?! That's amazing, how v.kind of them. (Sorry for not paying attention, but what was the occasion again:o?)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: at Pink and the forthcoming MIL visit. What did you do to deserve that one Pink?
Good luck to everyone going out shopping today, don't forget your elbow pads to get through the crowds in one piece.
Bye all

morning to you all
Thankyou so much for your lovely messages, you're a wonderful bunch of people!:T :T :T esp Blairweech and Tru xx
DS is on the mend slowly but me and DH are not so clever. Have found out its going to cost over £400 to get his car back form the compound before it gets scrapped:eek: daylight robbery:mad: so we are scrabbling around trying to find the cash - not easy at the best of times. It will leave us skint!
Nelski - I think you're right about the bus pass:rolleyes:
Mioliere - I bet you're relieved about the motorbike! I would be !
I have read the thread buy it hasn't sink in sorry so (((hugs))) to you all!
take care xxxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello, everyone! Just come on the reassure Haribo that I'm still here, and ask for a pass out for the next 24 hours *pretty please* *grovelling smilie*
Off to visit some friends for supper, and staying over. She's from Barbados, so there might be some spice, and he's great with puddings :j
Lovely as they are, I'm now seriously on the lookout for new friends - mine don't even know when my anniversary is, let alone pay £70/head for a meal to celebrate  Glad you enjoyed it Pen Pin :T
Drivel, whitter, blah blah, drivel. Still nothing to say
And OS - HM pumpkin soup, olive and blue cheese bread for lunch. I hoovered, and DH has bought and fitted an oak loo seat :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We'll certainly be cleaning it daily now!

Hi Guys!!
Thanks for all the lovely comments.
My friends are great and very generous. I only hope none of them went into debt to pay for it all, most are quite sensible though and eat out alot. It was at an Indian restaurant, but most ordered starters, poppadoms, mains, rice, nans and sides:eek:    ....I would assume it was the drinks that bumped the cost so high though! My (small)coke with a slice of lemon was £3.50:eek:    ....I think the bottles of wine were about £15-£20 and a pint of Stella was £4. Extortionate!! It was our anniversary and we hadnt seen a couple of our friends for nearly a year, so it was lovely catching up, but I didnt know they were going to get us all the pressies and gift cards. The cards were lovely too and some made me cry as they mentioned it had been a rough year etc. We had a lovely time though, which is the main thing-just to expensive for my liking:D It kind of goes against everything we have worked towards over the past 2 years and seems strange that people would spend so much on a meal and pressies, but then I suppse we were like that when we were both working etc.
Washload has been done and put on the airer, DW has been on and needs emptying and toilet cleaned. The beef joint is in the SC and should be ready in an hr or so. Would have been about 4.5 hrs then-do you think this is long enough?
OH has taken DD to see The Golden Compass this afternoon, so all quiet here. One of our friends sons (18) has gone with OH & DD as he was abit stuck what to do as his mates had gone to Amsterdam, but he couldnt get the time off work later and tomorrow and his folks are away on hols-so asked if he could come round.
Anyway, Im off to finish my sandwich.
Hugs to all.

Afternoon all,
Have been MIA the last few days. Had grief with our boiler playing up. Its half sorted now and at least we have heating etc but it will take plenty of phone calls to rectify it long term.
Went to see Mum this morning. Took ILO on the beach and it was horrid. Raining, windy and I came home an umbrella lighter after chucking my mangled one in the bin.
Mum wanted me to go down to get a ham that she had won at bingo. It was huge and there was no way it would fit in her freezer so it’s now in mine till Christmas. One BIG piece of it is for us the rest she has split for her.:T
She also gave me 10 WISPAS. (Isn’t she the best?)
