Evening all!
Well I'm totally knackered, but it was a really good day:D
Made the Christingles while listening to carol singing. Then home for a quick coffee and off to help at the gym, which was tiring but great fun. I adored the tiny 3 and 4 years old who couldn't quite remember their floor routines, so had to be prompted for every move:rotfl: They looked so sweet in their leotards.
Got back to find a DS and GF had arrived home and scoffed the leftover lamb stew I had planned for DH and me !!!! They were so fulsome in their praise of it's deliciousness I didn't like to enlighten them.:oCue quick trip to M&S for a couple of ready meals. Only the best ones without any additives or other chemical nasties.;) There was no way I could face searching the freezer for something to defrost. Not moneysaving but we all need a treat now and then.
Now Haribo you cheeky little *********!!! It's a very long while until my 50 th anniversary. Given that you're so in credit on your fuel bills, I'll settle for the gift vouchers;) No need for the slap up meal as well:D
Which reminds me, so pleased for you kyle!! What a lovely bonus that was with DH's cheque. Do as your mother says! (but have a bit of a treat too:D ) Shame DH has to work such a long shift and hope DS is OK
Ellie, do you fancy loaning out your OH, my oven could do with a bit of a scrub;) That was a real bonus eh?
Off to make a coffee, and have a surf. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
It was thanks to the Doctor that we got the attendance allowence, OH has an appointment to see the Dr about the shower, could not get an appointment until 2nd January!!!! It is occupational therapy people who have referred us back to SS after a visit from the Red Cross who gave us a seat for the bath (which moves when you sit on it) they referred us to OT who interviewed OH over the phone, I have a letter stating that the OT people have referred us for the bathroom modernisation programme, which, as I say has a waiting list as long as your arm and more.
Right now it looks like we will pay the money off the OD, we would then clear it by the end of March 2008. That would then allow us to start putting cash away for 'emergencies'
Our MP is Patricia Hewitt!!!!! after the mess she made of the Health Service, I am not sure how she would get on trying to get us a shower!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
csarina, I think I would put the money in the bank, chase up the shower asking for an approximate time when it might be done, mine was done via the occupational therapy service, I wonder if it might be worth calling these, get on at them and shout, loudly
When you've finished shouting and have an idea when, then decide what to do with the money you have received. Decide from there what to do with it. Like Lynz said social services will not pay off your overdraft....
Lovely to hear from you and so nice to hear some good news, hope the good fortune continues. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Evening all.
Just wanted to say thanks for the kind words today.
I've spoken to mom and we are going to see her tomorrow. There's no difference and I'm still upset at how she feels, but at least she is talking rather than bottling things up.
Dad is feeling the brunt of mom's outbursts and I do feel sorry for him but also helpless as we don't live near each other.
Thanks again

I agree with Lil_me.....my OT told me that those who shout the loudest will be heard. At the end of the day you both need it and will improve your quality of life.
2 years is not acceptable!
Good Luck Hun.....those bath blow up chairs are a pain in the !!!!!..if they are the ones you are referring too.
Hugs

Woke up quite late for me this morning. 7am  The silly kookaburra's were making such a noise about 3am they woke me up. Obviously someone told a good joke.
Took a while to get back to sleep. We had breakfast on the back verandah which was lovely. BM on and little freezer defrosting now. It's very humid again today.
Hope to mow later on this arv. I'm doing the front and DH the back. I also need to iron so will do that shortly while the temp is in the low 30's. I reckon by arvy it's going to be bl00dy awful.
Kyle I hope DS1 recovers quickly.
Taplady Enjoy your curry night out with friends. You definately need to kick back. So enjoy.
Have a good night's sleep. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
HariboJunkie wrote: »PennyPincher...Like I said when you posted on the other thread, what a great night you had. That works out as nearly £70 a head. Wow! Excuse my nosiness
but what did you have to eat?
Think it worked to £55 each as there was 3 of us as well as 15 mates. Most were having a few drinks each which were extortionate! I had a chicken biriani, OH had Pathia & coconut rice, DD has Korma and plain rice, 2 nans between us and some bombay spuds and a poppadom each. I had a coke, DD had 2 lemonades with lime and crushed ice and OH had 2 pints of Stella.....hardly £55 worth..but the others were ordering bottles of wine, jack daniels and coke, vodka and lime and all the food you could think of.
I dont mind you asking as I think they are totally mental:rotfl: but great friends and laugh!!
Hugs hun

Haribo I can honestly promise you that the number of ***s was purely accidental:D I didn't have any word in mind. But I find it hilarious you've spent time trying to work out what it stood for:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:It's just coincidence it equates to Snowy's new pet term for you;)
Now my pet term for you is .......... nah I'll leave you in the dark:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
