Contacted TalkTalk last night via Text Chat just asking about leaving before 8th April 2021 when they said I could without penalty due to the £2 price increase ... Then today just called the retention number just to confirm if the 8th April was the date I needed to physically move by or simply apply for a different company and was shocked to be offered an 18 month contract - 12 months for £20 per month and the remaining 6 months at £20+3.7%+Inflation - no haggling or anything .. since this is less then I pay right now and I'm happy with the service I took them up on their offer. I think it helped that they knew I'd already moved my £3 a month mobile phone contract with them to Lebara helped, showed I was serious about leaving.0

@dprice8893, the cut off date is individual to each customer, it's 30 days after receipt of the the notification of the price rise.1

And the day before my switch talktalk have sent me an email to advise me that my early termination charges will be waived. Why they couldn’t tell me this in the two letters and two emails they had sent me previously…. I can imagine a few people would have been scared into cancelling their switch on the basis talktalk were telling them they would face early termination charges.0

If they'd simply not applied the increase (which is what they offered when I started the switch) I would have stayed. However, after 15 years I decided enough was enough.0 -

paulpud said:My fixed price contract was due to end in December this year. After this morning's price hike email I decided to shop around and have this evening switched to another provider. I've now received an email from TalkTalk advising me that it will cost me £92.32 in early exit fees.I’ve just got my closing bill with £89.41 exit fee on there, so I’ve quickly cancelled my direct debit & hope I’m not too late to cancel the payment. I’m absolutely furious, I’ve kicked off big time in writing to their complaints dept but don’t expect to hear anything.
Bullyboy tactics to retain customers - absolutely disgraceful.0
