It is an OFCOM agreed period.
Thanks for clarifying. I'm scuppered then!
  • I received my latest billing from TalkTalk today with a £1 increase for the anonymous caller reject - which I’d been notified increases from 28th May 2021. However, the billing I received was for 26th April to 27th May, so the increase shouldn’t have been added yet. Got it sorted, but no apology, but thought others may have received incorrect billing like me. Worth a check!

That date has passed, was emailed in early March.
My question is whether they can enforce a 30 day period within which you can leave penalty free. It might be in their T&C's, doesn't mean Ofcom or a MCOL would see it as a fair term though.
Thats probably why they were unwilling to do a deal they know you are going to face exit charges.

They`ll just have to pay the extra £2 a month until their contract ends then either switch or negoiate a new deal.

The required 30 day notice was given.

Although I certainly don`t like the underhand way TT broke it`s contract with customers, having even advertised the fact on TV etc., that there would be no price increases during your fixed contract period.
