I have just contacted talk talk and was eventually put through to retentions and they have agreed to credit me with the £16 which covers the £2 monthly increase for the rest of my contract. Result!
I would encourage anybody else dissatisfied with the increase during contract to do the same.
A bit time consuming but talk talk are paying for the call.😊0 -

The monthly price of Fibre 35 and Fibre 65 broadband will rise in April each year by the rate of inflation plus 3.7%, from 2022. Price rise does not apply when selecting Fixed Price Plus. When you sign up there is an option to pay £1 a month for the price not to increase during the time of the minimum contract period. If you choose this then you will not see a price increase within the time you are under the minimum contract period.Someone please tell me what money is0

I had an email last week from TalkTalk to say my bills were going up but that I could leave with no early exit fee before 24 April. Decided to compare & found a better deal with Now. Arranged the switch and received another email from TalkTalk to say they’d be sorry to see me go, but encouraged me to contact them to “discuss options”; adding that I would incur a £79.81 early exit fee if I switched!! Went on an online chat to customer services the following morning, was told the second email was an error & I wouldn’t be charged (made sure I got a copy of the chat script). Have today received a letter with the £79.81 on there...
This sort of practice is outrageous; I’ve arranged to have a callback from a complaints manager and will give them both barrels - how any customers are staying with TalkTalk because they are being threatened like this with exit fees??Disgraceful, I wouldn’t stay with them now if they said I could have my broadband free!!!Surely this is against ofcom rules - they are my next stop!1 -
I also had an email last week, didn't say anything about price increasing but said a change to the terms and conditions and therefore they were allowing me to leave without any early termination charges. Wasn't planning on leaving but as they offered I signed up with someone else. Letter received today, saying they were going to charge me early termination charges!
How deceitful can they be., I have an email from them saying no early termination charges and a letter saying heres what you owe us in early termination charges.

Usually that letter says to contact them if you wish to leave under OFCOM penalty free rules .

I am a Fixed Price customer at Talktalk and have just been informed my bill will increase by £2 a month. When I contacted Talktalk as to whether they could legally break their contract with me, they quoted Section 16 of their T&Cs:
"16.1 We may need to change your services, equipment, charges or agreement for legal, regulatory or business reasons. If so, we’ll tell you about this in writing or by publishing a notice or updated terms and conditions on our website."
Saying that the increase was for legitimate 'business reasons' and so was valid.
So where do I go from here if I am not happy with paying an increase?0
