NST March 2021: a turtle rollercoaster
Comments
-
Dear Turtles,How have you got on this month on the rollercoaster?
Re-set your thinking. Have a look at your habits – I managed to have a good look at some things.
Offload your excess baggage – this is a lifelong process, surely! But I did some.
Listen to people carefully and make them feel appreciated by doing so. I tried...
Learn something new, or do something you haven’t done in a while - nothing specific for me here, but cleaning up my eating meant more food prep.
Eat well – get those veggies down yer neck! I have done super well on this on!!! Smug face is on
Rest well too – get enough sleep, enough fresh air, enough activities that nourish your soul. Done.
Cherish each day and tell us of at least 3 gratitudes for it. Done
Out and about. As the days lengthen and the temperatures rise, spend more time outside. Hmmm, not so good, esp with an extra ~2 weeks with dd playing the limpet. But not too bad either.
Aim for 17 NSDs. I got 24
A new personal best!
Sow some seeds. Either physically, in the garden/pots. Or start some things that will bear fruit in your life later on: regular reading; meditation; an exercise routine; flossing; keeping in touch with people; studying. I always postpone this one. Oops
Think about and ponder the year ahead. Not thinking too hard as much could yet change. Just getting to the end of the summer term will be a very good thing!
Extend a hand to others – foodbanks, shelters, charities. Yep, ongoing as it will always need to be.
I have not used my £5 treat money as I haven't wanted to, so I am going to roll it over to next month and add it to my charity shopping 'allowance' so it could mean a 'new' pair of jeans, or a hoodie if I'm lucky...
I still loathe rollercoasters, even watching them. And I think this has been a rollercoaster month for me, even without the added extra of being able to go and visit mum, which opens up a whole can of wormies. But April arrives tomorrow and I am on holiday until the 19th.I'm off to the Diamonds and Daisies month - see you there!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6 -
Number 22 reporting rollercoaster review!
Offload your excess baggage – wrote an essay... that was an offload and sorted the outside cupboard.
Listen to people carefully and make them feel appreciated by doing so - really needed to listen to my DGF this month she is in a very difficult situation but is feeling very stuck in it.
Learn something new, still not done any seeing
Eat well – Really pretty good, am pleased with this
Rest well too – been such a busy month, have tried to do more and rest better, but waking very early!
Cherish - Been cherishing important people and memories from the person who died recently.
Out and about. ... This is getting better, feeling more like doing it.
Aim for 17 NSDs. - Achieved!
Sow some seeds. - erm...
Think about and ponder the year ahead. Yes, been doing this and beyond....
Extend a hand to others – One foodbank and one beauty bank donation.
Rules:
-the rollercoaster ride lasts for the month of March, all 31 days of it.
-set your budget before the month starts - gotta know what you're aiming for! - Done

Well, I'll finish on NSD No 22 (no plans for buying anything or going out today).
As for my goals this month:- I have been looking after myself a bit better. I started taking a vitamin tablet every day and my sleeping pattern has definitely improved. Weather sort of put paid to the walking very far. I have been eating lots of veggies but also lots of chocolate. Pounds are piling on, I'm ashamed to admit
- I haven't done any baking as we are still trying to use up the cake and biscuit mountain. My little "garden is looking really nice. Everything is thriving and the seedlings are beginning to poke through. The communal outdoor space is looking a lot tidier and we have some quite fat birds and squirrels. Read books and cut on the screen time but did watch some interesting documentaries that Himself had recorded.
- House is looking reasonably clean and tidy (but needs a bit of decoration) and I am in the process of a major declutter. Himself has just suggested he buy a shredder so we can dispose of the mountain of paperwork he's hoarded. It goes back years. That's an encouraging development.
- We've decided that we will not go on holiday this year (unless there is a massive improvement in the virus situation) and will save the money to do some travelling when things calm down.
- I hope I've been kind.
Thank you for running the challenge, Apple
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Hi all
This has been a good month for me as i became debt free!!!!!!!!! (might've already mentioned that
i achieved 13 x NSDs. Spent too much on food but that was a lot to do with DD2 being home and also extra treats for her birthday and Easter.
Re-set your thinking. Have a look at your habits – I have been better at focusing on my qualification and not being easily distracted too much of the time.....
Offload your excess baggage – work in progress, getting better
Listen to people carefully and make them feel appreciated by doing so. I try to do this... Have listened to DD1 who is unhappy in her job
Learn something new - not yet as focusing on qualification.
Eat well & rest well - eat quite a bit of F&V but far too many treats!! Usually get fresh air most days but exercise classes have been sporadic. Better focus for April. Usually asleep by 11pm
Cherish each day and tell us of at least 3 gratitudes for it. Done
Out and about. As the days lengthen and the temperatures rise, spend more time outside. Yes think so
Aim for 17 x NSDs. Didn't acheive this
Sow some seeds. Either physically, in the garden/pots. Or start some things that will bear fruit in your life later on: I am studying a qualification for my PT role. If i could afford it, I would like to make this role my main source of income in future. Being qualified is a good step towards this.
Think about and ponder the year ahead. Difficult in the circumstances but have a few tentative plans...
Extend a hand to others – foodbanks, shelters, charities. Give regular donations to charities and give to the Foodbank when in the SM.
£5 treat money - might roll over to next month and see what the CSs have on offer after 12 April.....
thanks apple for a great challenge ! xxLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

I could have done better this month. Here’s my final check-in for March:
12/17 NSD. I read more of my book but didn’t finish it, I didn’t do any of my intended course but I did other short courses and learned a few new things, I didn’t walk for 30 minutes 4 times a week but I did do a few decent walks.
A couple of new people joined our team at work and I’ve tried being extra helpful to them as it can’t be easy starting a new job in these times.
Donated quite a lot of items to charity this month.
I feel I’ve not taken enough care of myself in March and will make more of an effort to do this in April.
See you in April turtles!

Checking in for my end of month review. I think I managed 19 NSD's in the end. I paid a bit extra off my debts and also put an extra £50 in savings. Work has been absolutely mental this month so it's gone by in a blur, I am definitely starting to feel run down so my time off has come at exactly the right time. Onwards to April Turtles! 🐢🐢🐢
