EssexOstrich said:Well done! Your story is exactly the same as mine and I've approached it in much the same way paying off the quick wins etc., You're bigger than me though, I've still not 'fessed up but I'm fixing it all myself and will tell the hubby when it's nearer an amount that won't kill him. It's definitely a massive relief to deal with it though despite being boring once the novelty wears off! Welcome to the club
OH is now starting to take a wage each month from her business and I get a good wage from work, time to start having a better relationship with money!
Good weekend, got a wire brush (£4) and got rid of some paint on the front of the house that had been annoying me. Weekly big shop this morning and park with the kids this afternoon.
Have a great day all! 🙌Credit Card 1 £9602.23 £0

Very similar story and it’s great having a run where you see the debt drop down quickly.
Also know what you mean about payday, it just becomes an hour to move money around then set and forget for another month.

Sounds like you're making great progress @ste82 and is a relief when you finally add it up and start tackling it. I think you'll be surprised how quickly it starts to go down when you're really focused. Some people seem to be amazing at selling and raising cash that way but I'm rubbish at that!1

@flapflop @elbree thanks both for your kind words. Cleaning out the garage is on my to do list so might uncover some bits to sell.
splurged £18 of my pocket money on an anniversary present (10 years) for OH today. We’d got into a bit of unhealthy competition with gifts recently so agreed a £20 limit, which was enough for a nice gift from Etsy.
Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine today!Credit Card 1 £9602.23 £0

Well done on clearing CC3 - it's great to see a zero balance isn't it? I must admit I do keep looking at mine sometimes, just to marvel in what I'd been working on for so long.
Happy 10th anniversary, it's our 10 years married in 2021 too

Well done on the progress you have made so far, What stood out to me in your op was when you said that your colleagues earn same as you but have better homes etc.... believe me appearances can be deceiving what may look like they are doing well on the outside but really could be in a load of debt also.Never compare yourself to others that is not healthy, at the end of the day its just stuff and not important, as long as you and your family are safe and well thats all that matters in the end. this is one of the reasons i dislike social media such as fakebook as it seems to be full of people bragging about what they have or where they going etc.... and as a result others try to keep up getting in to lots of debt in the process, its just not worth it in the end. Hope this helps“People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

@ratrace Appreciate the point. Maybe a different way to put it was the comparison on a mortgage calculator when I took the credits cards off!
