Morning all, very quick check in from me before I rush off to work. And I finish late so no Flying will get done
Bed made, clothes picked up
Thinking of you all lots, big hugs, sticks & spoons as required.
Let's get those SMILES on.9 -
Dancemum glad you got to speak to him and he sounded OK.
Terrible nights sleep dreaming, woke up in a state, dont even know what the dream was about! DS must have slept in because he hasnt even had a coffee or filled his flask.
Need to get on with the paid stuff, feeling a bit out of sorts this morning, no idea why. I spoke to DS2 last night and he wants to come home for a visit, it would be lovely to see him but he is not supposed to come home unless there are exceptional circumstances, and DS1 is still vulnerable. I suggested we see what Boris says about restrictions next week.
One bit of good news is that we have managed to get DHs Barclaycard down from £10083 to £5547 in the last six months, still have other debts of around £30k but we are lucky to have the spare money to be able to make progress clearing it off. Need to keep being frugal!
Have a good Thursday all x10 -
YL that's excellent work on the CC.
Binmen have just been which is probably why I am awake.
DW and WM x 1, Weather forecast suggests line drying might be possible tomorrow, so I will fold it and leave it.
Today's plan is baking, paperwork and knitting. I also need to go shopping. I haven't been out since Friday.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all,
Well done, YL, that is amazing progress. I hope DS sees that waiting a week might be best for all of you x I’m trying to get DD to see that making a decision now on uni might be a decision best delayed for a week or two.
Dancemum, I’m glad you got to speak to DS x
Iona, so busy as always. Take care of yourself though x
Valli, just respect from me. A whole house clean, I can’t imagine it x
So yesterday I was feeling smug that at least I had tackled the bedroom list on Tuesday. Err no, remembered this morning that I needed to change the bedding (a Thursday job, just because that’s how the cookie crumbled at some point). So bedding now changed and in the wm. Just need to go and remake it, then I have finally caught up with yesterday’s list over 3 days!I need to get a list together for today, but my book is proving a greater attraction. It was my treat to me in lockdown 2, only a paperback, but new with that new book smell. Must get on....7 -
Morning all,
YL that is absolutely amazing, you should be so proud of yourself. It'll be gone by summer at this rate! Keep on frugalling, I'm with you xx (she says, having just filled the big flask up thus avoiding the need to boil the kettle again today 😎)
Valli - well done on your cleaning. I am ashamed to say I had grand plans to deep clean the house but I just haven't been bothered. Oh well, it's gloomy today so I can't see the cobwebs! It's raining here but meant to dry up later. We are collecting some Olio bits later on from a lady down the road, so will combine that with a dog walk. No doubt we will need to light the fire as it's chilly. Other than that, just enjoying pottering at home before we go back on Monday xx10 -

Massively well done to both Valli and YL. *respect* I have never managed to clean the whole house in one week.Five bits of paper lobbed and 21 photographs. Slightly more than required and I could have carried on but the dog needs a walk, it's sunny and I've got to nip down to the Foodbank to drop off and pick up paperwork and have a careful conversation with the manager. After that I really should do 30 minutes dusting because I have been a slattern again this week and skipped the Flying I don't want to do. Must. Be. Better. Self-Disciplined. Or it'll turn into a midden again and I quite like it love it being partially civilized. Also must turn out two drawers today because I haven't done any for at least a year and the dresser drawers are all crammed full to a ridiculous level. It won't take more than 10 minutes once I start.Better is good enough.8

Good morning!
Well done Valli that is most impressive! YL the cc clearance is also impressiveHugs to those that need them, esp Dancemum & Fayolle.
I had a lie in, but I am now up, dressed and had a cooked breakfastI have updated my list, so will need to crack on in a bit. Needless to say, the whole house will NOT be done! I am going to clean up the kitchen, and cook some muffins to use up one of the big apples that won't get eaten otherwise. I have already worked out how many ww points is in one
I have music playing, instead of the TV which just distracts me. I am going to check the bank accounts while I finish my cuppa.
Have a good day everyone!10 -
Morning - just!
Well done Valli, setting us all a good example x
Brilliant job on the CC, YL
Dancemum, we sometimes get a visiting buzzard here too. Glad DS2 seems settled x
(((Hugs))) to Fayolle - forward planning can be so difficult x
This morning I have
- sorted my desk, filed/thrown out/shredded about 10 sheets of paper
- run a lubricating sheet through the shredder - last done in March 2020
- had my hair cut by DH
- cut DH's hair and trimmed his bushy eyebrows
- hoovered the barber's shop, aka kitchen
- brought the little stepladder upstairs and cleaned the dish-like lampshades in my bedroom (as expected, gross!!!!) and the study (not nearly as bad: it was probably last dusted when the room was decorated in the autumn). DH has a similar light fitting but it is right over his bed and I can't reach it: it will have to wait until some athletic chap or chapess comes to visit
- finished hoovering upstairs plus the staircase, so that's the whole house done this week
- wrapped up DDiL's and DGS3's birthday presents: I will take the parcel to the PO as soon as I have finished my coffee
- received a newsy email from DSiL, who I had planned to ring today, so I will leave phoning her until next week and ring somebody else instead.
Not planning on doing any more flying today. Lunch will be lentil and mainly red/orange veg soup that I made a couple of days ago, tea will be chicken risotto made with barley because I like the nutty taste and mainly green veg - that should keep the nutritionists happyRosie will want her walk later this afternoon. Guess what will fill the rest of my time! [Exit stage right singing "My Grandfather's clock".....]

I have baked banana loaves; they're now cooling.
Done my mending.
Submitted PTA Charities Commission return for our last year. Over 100 days early *glow*
Put washing on line as we now have blue skies; opened understory door so bunnies can run around.
I'm not THAT good - I rather suspect it's 5+ years since I cleaned the whole house in a week. And it is only because the other rooms are no longer occupied.
My Grandfather's Clock - I can still remember that - learned it in primary school!
