(((hugs))) Dance.. I know that is the hardest part, I hope you are getting some support. Nursing homes are often desperate for appropriate clothing for their residents. It might be worth asking one of those rather than charity shop.. They are always desperate for underwear in particular. We sent my nannas stuff and unopened toiletries and the food. It's just a thought xxxHad to run an emergency cleaning cycle on the DW today.. it was all greased up.. a squish of WUP liquid, a kettle of boiling water and a sluicing of drain unblocker did the trick.. and the 2:15hour cycle.Moomin is a happy chap.. She has a heater in her room so it is warm! It is an electric stove type thing but tiny and so cute!TD been on, I folded and put away the clean stuff.Everyone bathed and sparkled.. and dentist visited. Everyone needs to clean better (OH was supposed to supervise tooth brushing while I was in the shower.. clearly he did not). Twinkle needs 2 tiny fillings.. it appears she has inherited my rubbish teeth and added my malnutrition, anaemia and general rubbish blood she did not get decent nutrition in utero to build good teeth. Dot was HORRENDOUS in the dentist.. laying face down in the chair, closing her mouth constantly, licking the dentists hands and the mirror.. Thankfully the dentist is wonderful. We discussed the oribase toothpaste.. I wanted to know if it was any good and she said it is the best non-foaming, flavourless toothpaste there is at the moment. I asked about toothbrushes.. we have the Collis curve for her which are good for the back teeth but the front ones are still gross. so we may need 2 toothbrushes.. she won't use the electric ones or the musical ones or the light up ones and sticker charts don't work and the timer app doesn't engage. I will find something. Anyway.. Twinkle has my appointment on Monday morning and mine has been moved to 22nd March.. so that should be doable. I need to decide if I can be brave enough to sit there while they do fillings on her or if I need to send OH.. I don't want my abject terror transferring but OH is squeamish.. so it will take some thinking through.Cuppa and bed for me I think.. For some reason I woke up and got out of bed this morning.. I never do that, I slob about lots in bed haha.

Morning, I'm in today with a list of phone calls to make, yes it's the same list as last week as I put them off. The other major task is to clear out the old fridge and the area behind and under it ready for the arrival of the new one on Friday. Washing needs to be done too. So why am I sitting at my computer drinking coffee and looking for a headset that I could wear when working as the sound is hopeless on my little laptop.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Hugs to you all, see you later when I've done something, anything would be good9 -
Morning all,
Lots of hugs to you, dancemum. It is hard x
We picked up DD last night, thank you for all your concern. I think she might just have put on her brave face to avoid being kept in overnight. Follow up appointment not for 10 days, so more limbo. I need to call work shortly to confirm that it’s ok to wfh again to make sure that someone is here all day for her. Typically, having been at home constantly (and boy do I mean almost constantly 😩) for nearly a year, DH has to go and get the covid needle stuck in him later.
Thanks to Naggy Nora, I sorted DD’s car insurance yesterday. It was cheaper than last year, so that was good enough for now.
Wm is on, the clean towels are folded, I have made porridge and a pot of tea. Today is definitely a 2 cuppa start.
Hugs to you all x9 -
Morning all
Big hugs to you Dancemum; and Fayolle so sorry you’re in limbo still xx
Ended up being very productive yesterday; so today has been reclassified the lazy day! I have a couple of hours to myself this morning which I am going to spend enjoying my book. It is blowing a gale here so the bedding will be washed and will no doubt dry in no time.
Big hugs to you all xx

Pleased you found the rings Dancemum. Hope you can wfh Fayolle.
not a bad night for yours truly, woke up at 6 but fell back to sleep - very vivid dream in which I make props for a play. Rehearsal was in my hall...it's not that big!
am very wheezy so have deployed inhalers. When I have settled I will shower.
Bedrooms today!
Have had reply - apparently a cheque was sent so I need to follow that up.

Fridge and freezer now completely empty and ready to go. Moved it out so have scrubbed the floor where is was. I have 2 cats so why do I have serious evidence of mice behind my fridge and under the units. They have been threatened but have both reacted by finding a sunny spot and having another nap to think about it!
WM is on
Enjoying sunshine here and it's so warm.

Ah, Valli, fantasy lottery winnings spending. OH and I decided as soon as it was up and running we'd book ourselves on to a return trip on the Orient Express and figure out what we wanted to do with the rest of our lives if we won. Back then I think he'd have bought a small theatre but now I'm not sure he'd want the hassle. Thanks Dusty for the conscience-clearing info on PSB. Just as well it can take being ignored because I staked them with some pretty feeble bamboo and fed them a few weeks a couple of months ago, and have left them to it ever since. Yesterday I picked my first small head and it was lovely. Sorry about yours, Narco. Our pigeons hang around where we feed the birds in the front garden like a gang of thugs, and haven't actually realised there's a whole crop of PSB in the very high walled back yard. Not that bright, pigeons, apparently.((((Hugs))) Dancemum. I'm glad you've found the rings you were looking for.Piggers, I've had to send my dentist a box of Fat Rascals from Betty's because I bit him last week! I know he loves them because he waxed lyrical about them a few years ago so with any luck when I go back to have the crown fitted next Monday he'll have forgiven me. (I think he'd prefer I'd done a Dot!)First day of Lent, and I've purged the first file in the top drawer of the filing cabinet. I was only aiming for one piece of paper and seven hit the bin. Two letters from 2006! Seriously, who needs to keep that much. Stuff shredded and things cut up for scrap - I use a lot of scrap paper. 19 photographs, which I didn't do first thing so was a bit like pulling teeth this morning, so I sorted out some duplicates which made it easier.Must dust today - sitting room and behind radiators because I didn't do any of it yesterday. Then a dog walk, then a shower. Butternut squash and feta flan baked early this morning because I've got my first chiropractor's appointment later to deal with my back, so that'll take up the whole afternoon and I'll be shattered afterwards. At least supper will be easy.
Better is good enough.7 -
(((Hugs))) and strength vibes to dancemum - so pleased you found the missing rings
x
More (((hugs))) and coping vibes to you, Fayolle, and your DD xx
Glad you're taking care of yourself, asb x
Anti-wheeze vibes to Valli x
So far this morning I have
- emptied the DW and run it on a cleaning cycle
- run the WM on a cleaning cycle
- joined kazwookie in the Drain Unblocking Brigade - though without much success (I think the blockage is where the waste pipe turns a 90 degree angle, and I'm not even going to attempt to unscrew the joints)
- WULTD
- wiped down all kitchen worktops and tiles
- tidied LR
- flung open windows for fresh air
In the rest of today I aim to
- cook a joint of pork in the SC
- hoover all through
- clean the ensuite and bathroom
- bin/file some more papers from the FH pile in the study - I'm not up to your high level of productivity, Honey Bear, but every little helps!
- text the plumber to come and service the gas boiler and the gas fire which we haven't used more than a couple of times this year, and at the same time unblock the waste pipe
- make some phonecalls
- fill in and send off a Gift Aid form for a charity donation (having now checked that my estimated tax payment for the current year will cover it)
- start planning a different sort of service (work)
- Z00m meeting at 6.00pm, at which I shall see DS2
I ordered a box of 5 reams of printer paper via the Jungle, though from a different seller. When it arrived yesterday it was only 3 reams, so last night I sent off a polite but firm message reporting the problem and asking them to send me the outstanding two packs. No response yet...
Must get going. Hope everyone has a productive or restful day
