What a brilliant week of small financial wins. Sometimes I think they are the most satisfying.

Good morning. Yesterday was a work day so not much prospect for spending. I did go to the supermarket on the way home though as the HT wanted a tv night with popcorn and sweets. Requested items obtained but I paid in cash with some of the money that my boss repaid me so nothing leaving the bank account yay.

I have a busy-ish day planned today. I'm going to be making fruit cakes for a friend and lasagne to go in the freezer in portions. There is some ironng to be done (t-shirts) and I need to have a quick hoover round too. The HT isn't well or I'd make him help. He has a cough and a sore throat but covid flow test is clear.

Thank you @Willowtree222, I'll return the favour.

I think that he has tonsilitis @WinterWarrior so probably not infectious. I can see a few tiny white spots on his throat so doctors for him tomorrow if it's still sore (it's been a good few days now). I did join in with the tv night and the popcorn. We're watching Pose on netflix. He's seen it all but is watching it again with me. I bought him a smart tv during 1st lockdown so that we could put our pjs on and watch tv in comfort sitting on his bed. I don't want to swap the downstairs tv as it has a dvd player built in which I use for the Looked after Person. I'll swap to smart tv and dvd player when/if that one breaks.

The lasagne is done and the fruit cakes are in the oven so I'm going to do some weeding in the garden. The fruit cakes are for a friend but I've been exploring the subject of "when you care for people more than they care for you" with another good friend who has been badly let down by someone that she thought was a good mate so the baking may come to a halt at some point. Along with the "overshopping" for food it seems to be a complex subject.

There does usually get to a point when you realise it’s all give and no take ☹️
    I haven’t heard of Pose and I’m always on Netflix…I shall investigate…

Good morning. Yesterday was a planned spend - food shopping and petrol. The HT has tonsilitis so also has antibiotics from the doctor. He's ever so slightly off his food. Not enough for most people to notice but he declined pizza and asked for beans, bacon and toast instead. He hasn't stopped talking yet though so I assume recovery will be fairly rapid once the antibiotics start to do their job,

The pollen count here must be very high. I won't bore you with how many "one a day" hayfever tablets I'm taking but just one isn't doing the job. I have discussed this with the doctor by the way so I'm ok - the stronger tablets that he offered just put me to sleep which isn't practical.

Today was an unplanned spend "do we have any more strepsils mum?" even though I'd asked him before I went shopping if he needed anything. He alsways says no and then thinks of something later. Most of the time I let him either do wthout or fetch whatever it is himself but as he's ill I've been a bit more sympathetic.

You will never bore me with with your hayfever tablets woes coz I know the feeling. I tend to still wear my mask outdoors precisely for pollen reasons, lol. And if you feel like the stronger tablet really knocks you out - I tend to just take a half dose when I'm desperate.

    Hope everyone feels better
