Depends if DCBL think they are professional or not ???
You need confirmation of the extra 30 days otherwise if ignored, you could receive a court claim2 -

Leave out the stuff about extortion and accomplices.
Why not just show the managing agents the BBC news article about UKPC altering photo evidence and being banned in a recent year from getting DVLA data and ask if this is the sort of company to inflict on residents? Also do you think it could have been the UKPC ticketer who has been parking in residents' bays and causing this in cases like yours?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have also received a LOC from DCBL dated in (you guessed it) - 2017. I had a parking court claim back in 2018 and with the help of the members from this group (and a few stressful months of pulling together all the files) I was able to win that and claim expenses but of course every case is a bit different so I will be grateful for your help on this one
The letter came through 3 weeks ago, I was parked in a 'permit area' at the back of a restaurant, and as it's a chain I have complained to them and asked for the charge to be cancelled (I was in fact in the restaurant but not sure how I'd prove that after 4 years) but so far they have said they can't cancel it but they will reimburse me £60 (the original 'fine')
I know I need to submit my SAR and complain to MP asap as I'm running out of time.
What are the next steps after the SAR? If they don't confirm they received it, is it a waiting game for the court claim?1 -
Why are you running out of time? It is only a letter of claim and that can be set back by, along with submitting the SAR to the DPO of the parking company, sending a letter to DCBL (hopefully DCB Legal and not DCB Limited), telling them that, whilst you deny any debt exists, you are seeking debt advice and you require them to put the matter on hold for 30 days in line with the pre-action protocol for debt claims (but this is all in the NEWBIE sticky!) The data from your SAR will be useful later in the process, if it gets that far, at witness statement time. You can complain to your MP once you have done the SAR and hold letter. If/when you receive a N1 claim form from CCBC, start a new thread with all the details from your post above and the date of issue of the claim form.4

thanks for your quick response Le_Kirk. I thought I needed to send the SAR within 30 days, but all done now anyway - SAR sent to DPO and hold email sent to DCLegal - as per templates in the NEWBIES thread. Will wait to see what happens next

Hi all, I just wanted to check that I'm not meant to be doing something?
DCBL finally emailed back on 25/11/2021 stating they received my email and will place the matter on hold for 30 days.
I have received my SAR.
My MP/his aide is taking the matter to the landowner on my behalf.
Am I likely to get a letter on Christmas eve saying they're taking me to court? If so what kind of time frame is a court date likely to be set? Do public holidays get disregarded in terms of setting dates?
With regards to my Defence, what defence is there when the signage points out that you need a permit but no visitors permits were issued by the management company (I was parked in a visitors bay as someone had parked in my designated space, with my permit removed as I believed this to be the correct action)?

Any term requiring a visitors permit was void for impossibility. That's a defence right there. You will get a claim at some point, probably in January, as the CCBC closes over xmas.

@kiss_me_now9
The time frame s long. In my case it was receiving an N1 form after 2 years to the date of alleged parking. Then another 8 months to WS statement stage. With a court date announced exactly 1 year from date of N1. So everyone's case is different with different times- but hopefully this will give you a rough idea of time frames.
Unfortunately it's a long game, but hang on and keep to deadlines and don't be afraid to ask for help.3
