  • Received my first DCBL (Limited) last Friday from February 2020, client being UKPC. Ignoring it :D

Why don't they send the photo proof with the letter? Anybody know?

Also, regarding submitted a SAR, they want the PCN number right, as well as some proof of identity. Wouldn't sending them that shown UKPL I received the letter? Does it matter?

Because DCBL don't have any evidence, they are just given your name and address and how much to randomly chase you for.

No it doesn't matter about receiving a letter, why would you want to hide that?  Just show them who you are from a utility bill if you no longer have the car logbook.  The SAR goes to the parking firm DPO, not DCBL of course.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Because at this point they work blindfolded.  Just a list from UKPC TRYING to con people out of money

Send UKPC a SAR and waste their time as they are wasting yours

I will do so this weekend  :)

Apart from wasting their time, would they usually just remove the "ticket" from the system?

UKPC won't, they probably claim tax relief classing it as an unpaid debt.

Choice for DCBL is simple ....... discontinue while the going is good or get spanked in court

What is the usual defense argument if it goes to court. I'm not asking for a defense, but just the defense term it would be called.

    Eg:
    Deny liability
    Say fine is unlawful
    Say UKPL is acting unlawfully?

    Just the basic defense term.

It is clear that you are yet to read the NEWBIES thread.

If you do find yourself with a Claim to defend, then you need to be reading the second post of the NEWBIES thread. At that time you should start your own thread if you want specific advice on your predicament.

And by the way... there is no letter 's' in the word defence.  :)

Look, that is a million miles away if ever.  DCBL have trapped themselves in a scam ... fools.

Only today we see DCBL spanked in court for incompetence.  Read the last few posts on this thread

UKPC are just using DCBL like a public convenience, in out, skake it all about and then off to their legal SCSLAW   .DCBL have yet to wake up, seems like DCBL are easy meat for a scam

You have to treat DCBL like that dreadful TV programme ... "can't pay" ... a DCBL propaganda advert
THEY fail in understanding the scam parking industry

It's not a fine and it's not unlawful.

You seem to have missed the thread called TEMPLATE DEFENCE at the top of this forum.

  • Hi all - first post so thanks in advance for any help. I’ve read the first few posts in the  ‘Newbie’ thread and most of this thread too so I think I know how to proceed but just wanted to sanity check.

I’ve had my first piece of correspondence from DCB Ltd this morning which is a Final Notice of Debt Recovery - for a parking charge which I haze zero knowledge of.

I’ve not moved in the last 4.5 years so no reason for not getting any prior correspondence.

Interestingly wording on the letter opens with “You have failed to pay DCBL the outstanding balance of £140 or make contact to discuss repayment...” - tough to do either of those things without hearing from them before.

From reading material on here I think I ignore DCBL currently but I can see the advice is to do a SAR - but I don’t definitively know where that should be directed as I’ve not had any correspondence at all previously on the Parking Charge. I’ve read the comments about DCBL picking up old tickets from UKPC so I think the advice is to direct a SAR to UKPC? Thanks!
