Green Network Energy is ceasing to trade

Right, well then, these jokers at EDF have made contact eventually with an e-mail simply saying "Payment now due and we've made it simple. Bill of £1k is due today - just click here to pay"
Nothing else.
No bill.
No calculation of how they got to £1k owed.
No final bill from GNE.
No reference to the credit balance of £400 - £500 that was with GNE.
In fact, I'm not even sure that this e-mail today is not just a scam / phising. Has anyone else received similar?0 -

A SoLR (EDF) was apponted by Ofgem on 30 January 2021
EDF took over the supplies from GNE on 31 January 2021. (although this was not the date all 360,000 GNE customers would have magically instantaneously have been switched to EDF - it was a Sunday. It's not unusual where a SoLR is appointed for the system to catch up later with reality)
As GNE then no longer had any customers, and had run out of money, they formally appointed administrators on 02 February 2021. They currently remain in administration.
I don't see any propect of them ever trading again.
At a meeting of creditors in March/April, it was indicated that secured and preferential creditors would eventually receive payment in full, whilst unsecured creditors would only receive a distribution of whatever was left.
(of course, GNE domestic customers would have had their credit balances protected under Ofgem's SoLR process)

So fed up - I've e-mailed OFGEM. It's their mess after all.
Dear OFGEM,
My energy supplier failed in January (Green Network Energy).
OFGEM transferred the account to EDF.
EDF have not contacted me and their website does not have any functioning contact telephone number. This is your fault as the selection of EDF was entirely your own.
I have today received an e-mail purporting to be from EDF claiming that a balance of £1k is now due for payment. This is the first contact I have received from EDF. It is unclear whether the communication is actually from EDF or may be a phising message. Either way, the sum due is stated with no calculation of how it was arrived at and no recognition of the credit balance remaining on my account when GNE ceased trading.
In the absence of any way to contact either GNE or EDF, I am looking for OFGEM who have selected this incompetent supplier to resolve the issues.
Kind Regards,
