Anybody else being charged more with EDF than GNE? My annual predicted bill has tripled....and both standard charges and electric unit charges are higher.
Yes I am paying more - I have raised a case in "resolver" to see if they will change the gas only tariff from "v1" to "v3" since "v3" is cheaper - you can see all the tariffs avalable by using the cheap energy club comparison tool

they could refuse though by saying they will just refund the difference at the end of september

Previous GNE tariff I was on :
    Standing charge 19.26p per day
    Unit rate 2.98p per kWh

Current EDF tariff I have been put on :
    Standing charge: 22.00p per day
    Unit rate: 2.792p per kWh

I am paying more as I use less than 14.6kwh per day which is the break even point (there are various reasons for my very low usage which I will not explain here)

Tariff I have asked them to put me on

    Welcome GNE Variable v3
    Standing charge 19.257p per day
    Unit rate 2.547p per kWh

I am also over-simplifying as I was also put on the non DD tariff originally

I'm also not on DD atm as cancelled with GNE as soon as they went under (before i was told to leave it in place). I was already in credit £300+ and they were just about to drop my DD from £70 to £40. Glad I did from hearing about all the people who still don't have their credit balance back on this thread.
    Number of Debts: 13 (01/01/2021) Now 5
    Debt amount: 22k (01/01/2021) Now 9k
Mortgage £110500 Sep 2017, original MF date Sep 2042 now May 2052 Thanks affordability checks 🙄 Now £87243.75

Even if you use no gas at all, the difference between the GNE tariff and the EDF one is about £6.50 from end-Jan to end-Sep.

Note that GNE often quote their unit prices and standing charge without VAT and so you may need to add on another 5% to any GNE prices that you have a note of. EDF and most other companies include the VAT in their prices.

I've at last got my final bill from GNE. There are some anomalies - I've sent both meter readings to EDF recently and they have used the gas one, but not the electric. The tariff is at odds with the GNE one I had - gas is slightly more expensive and electric is slightly cheaper.

I'm just happy to move on however and don't think I'll challenge it. I'm showing a debit, which I expected, but it isn't as much as it should be as the estimate for electric is substantially lower than it actually is.

I also had a reading dispute with GNE from the time I joined them. I should be due them some money from that, flagged it up when I joined, sent photos of my meters at their request and they didn't resolve it. I'm inclined to leave that as well, unless the liquidator chases me.

I was put on a higher tariff by EDF, despite their promise. However, after contacting them, I was refunded the difference (I had moved house by then, so was no longer a customer).

I have had my final bill from GNE. I stopped paying them from February, so I was aware that I owed a fair amount. Wait for it.......the final bill is broadly accurate!! The money will be collected by EDF, even though I have already moved on. Apart from a small variation in the fixed ppd charges for different billing periods, the rest is 100% right. I am a happy man.

Stil no initial contact from EDF saying they have control of my account with an EDF account number. Looks like i'll have to chase them up again tomorrow.

I've had 'closing statement' from GNE (in administration). Same muddle that others have reported: wrong daily charge for a few days back in December 2020. I phoned GNE about that, and they've re-issued the statement, with electricity corrected but not gas. I've decided I can't be bothered to chase that - it's only pence.
The closing statement, to my mind, unequivocally shows that GNE have continued trading, in administration, but are relying on EdF to collect and pass to GNE charges due up to customers' handover dates, in my case 29 April 2021.
For that date, GNE have used my reading for gas, but an inflated one for electricity, obviously inconsistent with the reading I gave at the time.  EdF told me they would challenge GNE's wrong estimate, but if they did, GNE have ignored them. That will be EdF's loss, not mine. But the wrong opening read for EdF caused EdF's computer to reject my electricity meter reading today. Don't yet know how EdF will resolve that.
Via my MP, I have complained to the Parliamentary Ombudsman about Ofgem brushing off my complaint to Ofgem about Ofgem's persistent mis-statement that GNE ceased trading on 31 January 2021.

I owed approx £250 on my final bill  (probably to be expected as only started with GNE in November) My new bill from edf has added that and taken it from my bank account with an additional out of cycle direct debit, ignoring the payments I've already made to them in the meantime which did more than cover the amount owed, but I'm now quite a bit more in credit. Anyone else had this happen?

Got my EDF bill this week, with estimated readings for power consumed to 22 May, it also started with the GNE balance. They wanted the GNE balance paid in full within 2 weeks AND my ddm to continue unchanged. I objected on the grounds that my EDF account showed actual readings at 30 June (lower than their 22 May estimates!), paying the GNE bill would also put me in credit and that their annual electric consumption forecast was silly (over twice expectation, I've solar panels), to be fair I got a new billing within 24 hours and agreement that my existing ddm could continue as normal without the additional 1 off GNE balance payment.
Good to know EDF respond to billing complaints

I've belatedly realised that my closing GNE statement does not include any credits for direct debit payments taken by GNE (in administration) in January February and March 2021. My opening EdF bill does include credits for direct debits taken by EdF from May. Anyone else had this?
