Green Network Energy is ceasing to trade

I had my first bill from EDF today and it was incorrect. The opening estimated balances were considerably lower than the closing estimated balances on my GNE account, meaning I am being double charged for the difference. By a lot.
I had an online 'chat' with one of their advisors who acknowledged the issue and said it would be raised with their internal team (?). The advisor also asked me to take a photo of both my meters and send it via email to them (which I have now done), and to do the same again in a week's time.
I must say it's very disheartening to wait so long (five months!) for the transfer to happen and then to receive a first bill from EDF which has the most basic errors on it. I can't wait for this process to end.0 -
I used to be a Green Network Energy customer at my previous address, I moved house on 1st Feb and let GNE know I was doing so - a week later I received notice that EDF were taking over the account.
The last I heard from EDF was in April, and was a generic 'everything is going smoothly' type email with no information about my account number or anything - since Feb I have been in my new house with a different supplier and they never received any notice from EDF or GNE about either of them taking over the energy supply.
I have been in contact with EDF multiple times but they are saying there is no record of anyone with an account under my name that should have been switched over from GNE to EDF.
I have money in credit with GNE, but I am at a complete loss as to what to do as EDF apparently don't have me on their system. I have also paid two direct debits to GNE - one in March and one in April, even though I pay a DD to a completely different supplier in a different address.
Does anyone have any ideas?0 -

Does anyone have any ideas? You can't move your energy account from one property to another. Your energy supply at your new property is with whoever was supplying it to the previous resident, unless you have specifically switched away since moving in. EDF will not take it over unless you choose to switch to them. When you've been talking to EDF, have you been giving them your old address or your new one?N. Hampshire, he/him. Well that's a bit odd, particularly as they have emailed you!You say you have money in credit with GNE. Have you considered claiming one or more of your DD payments back from your bank under the Direct Debit Guarantee?N. Hampshire, he/him. Today I received a final bill from GNE which is some progress I guess. I had the two direct-debits on it that I paid whilst living in my new house; I'm trying to get these removed and credited back to me.
What a !!!!!! show this whole thing has been for everyone 🙃0 -
Another month on.
Still no sign of the large credit balance from the end of January.
Still no bill from EDF.
All I know now is the high tariff they have put me on compared to GNE rate.0 -
EDF tweaked my DD this week - downwards ! - Already a large debit balance. Now heading for a deficit at the end of September.
@Grumpy_chap EDF only bill every 6 months so you won't get one before end of September.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

EDF FAQ's
How many bills do I get each year – and when do I get them (Budget Direct Debit)?
You get a bill every six months when you pay by Budget Direct Debit – so two a year.
You'll get your bill just after we ask you for a meter reading (unless you have a smart meter, as it sends your reading automatically).
Please only send a meter reading when we ask you for it.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
