I got nothing specific until May 5 when I got my account number DD and Tariff detail. Since then I have heard nothing but the website has progressed as far as my account is concerned.
@powerful_Rogue Have you got an account number, looked on the website ?????//Few generic emails at the start of all this, nothing since.Did phone up a few weeks ago, my account hasn't been migrated across yet. Will leave it another few weeks and see if anything arrives by then.0 -
I had my final bill, addressed thus: "Here’s your closing account statement from Green Network Energy in Administration...And a little note from EDF"I didn't cancel my direct debit but my payment method still changed, though they have taken direct debits again (they didn't take one in May):

What I did find out is for my gas bill, they re-input all the readings as manual estimates into their system (the wrong readings mind you), because they lost supply to EDF and had no ability to regenerate the statement - all seems odd. Hopefully now I've supplied every single previous bill they will create a closing statement from their own last PDF GNE bill I gave back to them. It all sounds like a complete mistake, and lack of access to the original account and readings.
Contrary to what Ofgem disgracefully continue to state on their website, GNE continued trading long after January 2021, but with the administrators (from Deloitte) in charge, tasked with winding down the company in an orderly way and maximizing the ultimate payments to GNE's creditors.
Since it seems to be affecting many posters here, it may be worth challenging the 'mistake' of putting (all / many /some ?) GNE customers on non-direct-debit tariffs for a few days in December/January (while GNE was still, as far as we know, solvent).0 -
I have also received my final GNE statement today by email. There are a few days on a non-DD tariff when I cancelled my DD before reinstating it, but I can live with that. However, I can't agree the DD period tariff charges to the rates I thought I was paying (I made a note of all the details before the GNE site closed), which is odd. However, the rates they have charged me are broadly similar so I don't think it makes a lot of difference to the bottom line.
The meter reading estimates are hopeless - Electricity massively overestimated and Gas underestimated. I supplied actual readings a few days ago so hopefully that will work itself out at my next EDF bill. As yet though, my brought forward balance (debit) has yet to appear on the EDF website.0 -
I know 2 other people including myself who have also been charged at a higher standing charge rate for the 1st 5 days of the Jan Gne billing period. We all maintained our direct debits throughout the GNE/EDF transfer period, yet we have all been charged at this higher rate with no explanation. I agree that in each case individually its a smallish amount of money but if multiplied by 360,000 customers all paying this unexplained increase, its a very nice source of additional revenue1

We'll ask you to give us two readings each year, just before we review your Direct Debit amount. If you give us your readings, it helps us to keep your payments in line with your energy use.If we don't get your readings, we have to estimate your energy use. Please only send a meter reading when we ask you for it. [my bolding]
Well, diddums, your poor little system does no checks on consistency of weekly usage (or some such) and will get confused if it's sent meter readings before it can use them?1 -
My GNE carry-over debit appears on my EDF account, both on their website and app. It was originally £133.90 but EDF have taken a payment of £56 and it's now showing as £77.90.What EDF aren't displaying is any usage since transfer. I submitted meter readings at the start of June (and it's showing on my account as the latest reading) but I guess it won't actually appear as kWh used until their next billing cycle.N. The Edf website is not very helpful - it only seems to show the credits. When I did make my top up I got what appears to be a running balance that must be taking into account the energy cost - that lined up with my own calcs starting with the GNE final, DD's made.Never pay on an estimated bill.
