    EDF FAQ's

How many bills do I get each year – and when do I get them (Budget Direct Debit)?

You get a bill every six months when you pay by Budget Direct Debit – so two a year.

You'll get your bill just after we ask you for a meter reading (unless you have a smart meter, as it sends your reading automatically).

Please only send a meter reading when we ask you for it.

Thanks, yes I've seen that before. But I'm confused - why would that mean that Grumpy chap won't get a bill before Sept? Do they normally only bill in certain months?

My EDF a/c started on 7th May not as I expected from the day EDF became SOLR.  I got a GNE final bill on the 6th May.  I expect a bill from EDF in November unless I leave them at the end of September.

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Can anybody tell me the difference between a Budget Direct Debit and a Direct Debit.
I am assuming if I paid by Direct Debit I would get a bill more frequently. If so how can I change to Direct Debit.

    Confused!!

EDF took over my supply on 27 April. Still no GNE final bill despite the 'industry accepted' delay being 4/6 weeks from ending supply.
Does that mean I won't get an EDF bill until 2022, unless I leave at the end of September?

@puckishpixie  Can you do your own predictions using your actual annual consumptions ?   EDF's is a bit of a guess and assumes you will revert to a standard tariff when your fix expires at the end of September.  Give us GNE's tariff and EDF's Welcome tariff please.

They claim they cannot amend annual prediction as that was provided by GNE (£800 to £2400) is a MASSIVE JUMP but I just called them and the unit rate of 16.12p/KwH for electricity on the letter is different to what they have on their system for me :( . I've been referred to a team who will review what is going on and get back to me in 48 hours as they agree it should not be more than GNE (was on 14.60p/Kwh) and I thankfully downloaded all my bills from GNE in Jan so I can prove it.

By default I always disregard a suppliers predictions - all they do when you get silly guesses like you have is to encourage you to use you own figures and do your own comparisons.

Yes I am paying more - I have raised a case in "resolver" to see if they will change the gas only tariff from "v1" to "v3" since "v3" is cheaper - you can see all the tariffs avalable by using the cheap energy club comparison tool

they could refuse though by saying they will just refund the difference at the end of september

Previous GNE tariff I was on :
    Standing charge 19.26p per day
    Unit rate 2.98p per kWh

Current EDF tariff I have been put on :
    Standing charge: 22.00p per day
    Unit rate: 2.792p per kWh

I am paying more as I use less than 14.6kwh per day which is the break even point (there are various reasons for my very low usage which I will not explain here)

Tariff I have asked them to put me on

    Welcome GNE Variable v3
    Standing charge 19.257p per day
    Unit rate 2.547p per kWh

I am also over-simplifying as I was also put on the non DD tariff originally
