I also note that you have noticed the slight oddity in January on your bill (a similar one exists on my final bill too) of 5 days of non-DD tariff standing charge (7 days in my case) leading to an extra charge across gas and electricity of just under £2 - probably not worth the effort of complaining about on an individual basis, but if this has been done across 300k customers, this nets an extra £0.5 million or so for GNE's creditors. Any one know why this brief change to non-DD tariff is there?Super_Stomper said:!!!!!! who works out these estimated meter readings????!!! (Electric is fine...it's always the gas that's wrong historically)
PS I was never asked to provide any 'closing' meter readings for 29/4/21 by EDF

ps My first post here - hello everyone...Did you and Super_Stomper cancel your GNE DDs? That could be why you're showing up as non-DD for a few days.I didn't cancel mine but left it in place until EDF transferred it into their name, and I don't seem to have been caught out by the higher daily standing charge.N. Thankfully I read the advice posted here and didn't cancel my DD - for those that did, I would imagine it would have shown up in the final bill later than mid-January (i.e. after the announcement that GNE were going under). Interesting that you haven't ended up with a higher daily charge (so not universal then). Was your tariff the same as Super_Stomper's and mine (i.e. Family Green 12 month fixed V7)?QrizB said:

cheers - possible that it was a glitch with the family green tariff - I don't think I'm going to chase it further (not worth it for a couple of quid - am I allowed to say that on these forums?)QrizB said:I was on "GNE Essential 1 year Fix", my final bill is posted on page 50 of this thread.0 -
This is beginning to become wearisome. My situation has changed since the demise of GNE and I'm using substantially more electric and gas. My May DD was cancelled, presumably by GNE and I still haven't had a welcome letter or account number from EDF. On looking up the EDF faq for ex-GNE customers, their preferred means of contact is a SMS, so I've sent them a text message.0

MSE News has just published a news story on the latest on GNE/EDF re. customers still waiting to be transferred:

Thanks Helen. I'm not sure what it means that 10,800 people are still waiting for an update on the status of their account. Perhaps it means that EDF haven't contacted these people at all? I think the problem is bigger than that because it seems that many more people have had some contact from EDF but their transfer is still not completed. It would be interesting to know just how many of the 360,000 ex GNE customers have been fully transferred to EDF (including final bills from GNE and refunds if appropriate).MSE_Helen_K said:MSE News has just published a news story on the latest on GNE/EDF re. customers still waiting to be transferred:
It's hard to know whether GNE or EDF are to blame, but I just want the interminable wait to be over!2 -
I got my very first letter through the post from EDF yesterday so they probably will contact you eventuallyNebulous2 said:This is beginning to become wearisome.
