Super_Stomper said:!!!!!! who works out these estimated meter readings????!!! (Electric is fine...it's always the gas that's wrong historically)
PS I was never asked to provide any 'closing' meter readings for 29/4/21 by EDF

OldScientist said:I also note that you have noticed the slight oddity in January on your bill (a similar one exists on my final bill too) of 5 days of non-DD tariff standing charge (7 days in my case) leading to an extra charge across gas and electricity of just under £2 - probably not worth the effort of complaining about on an individual basis, but if this has been done across 300k customers, this nets an extra £0.5 million or so for GNE's creditors. Any one know why this brief change to non-DD tariff is there?
ps My first post here - hello everyone...Did you and Super_Stomper cancel your GNE DDs? That could be why you're showing up as non-DD for a few days.I didn't cancel mine but left it in place until EDF transferred it into their name, and I don't seem to have been caught out by the higher daily standing charge.N. This is beginning to become wearisome. My situation has changed since the demise of GNE and I'm using substantially more electric and gas. My May DD was cancelled, presumably by GNE and I still haven't had a welcome letter or account number from EDF. On looking up the EDF faq for ex-GNE customers, their preferred means of contact is a SMS, so I've sent them a text message.0

It's hard to know whether GNE or EDF are to blame, but I just want the interminable wait to be over!2 -
