And I thought, at last, electric now at stage 4 with EDF, would be completed shortly!!Tonight's EDF email advice. Dream on.
The acquisition process has begun for your EDF Energy Electricity account.
We're currently in the process of contacting your previous supplier to agree an accurate opening meter reading and this process can take between 6 to 8 weeks.
As soon as a meter reading has been agreed, your account will be amended and the revised reading will show on your next bill. Please note that you don't have to take any further action.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be assured that every effort is being made to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

I had an email from EDF today to say they had set up my "payment plan". They have my correct bank details for the direct debit, although it's interesting that it's for the WHOLE amount monthly (not the same payment every month), and they are requesting a meter reading every month to do this. If they don't receive a meter reading they will take £25 per month, which is an odd amount because it's nowhere near enough to cover my usage of elec and gas combined.
Anyway, my transfer seems to be crawling towards a conclusion, although who knows when GNE will get around to sending me a final statement!0 -
How often to EDF send their bills out? Quarterly?0

they bill every 6 months1

if anybody eventually manages to receive a final bill from the GNE administrators / EDF perhaps they could post up the basic details so other people know what to expect ?
i.e. is the tariff used from the start of February the same new EDF tariff, as promised. or is it the old GNE tariff - also is it the direct debit tariff even if the DD was cancelled
Also how quickly is any leftover credit transferred once the final bill is produced
From what I can gather, reading between the lines, it sounds like it will be EDF actually producing final bills on the behalf of the administrators
Personally I STILL have had absolutely no contact from EDF & I am not going to waste any of my time chasing them especially as I do not have any credit built up with GNE (i.e. I will owe them money when the final bill is produced)

I've received my GNE final bill via email this morning. Charges are based on my old GNE tariff until 30/01 and the new EDF one from 31/01. I'll post some screenshots shortly.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.

Many thanks, QrizB. And, to be fair, congratulations to EdF on producing a transparent final bill on behalf of the GNE administrators. Nul points to Ofgem, whose website wrongly supposed that GNE would cease trading end January.0

Had an email from EDF saying that I'm live on supply now- to my surprise my smart meters have suddenly started working again (tariff showing on the IHD and everything!) which I wasn't expecting as they're old SMETS1 meters. I guess it's been switched to the DCC system at some point? Would have been nice if I was notified but not concerned as I don't have to muck about with meter readings as much now.0
