Very informative bill QrizB, now I've got some idea what to expect from GNE/EDF, billing looks very easy on the eyeMy only question now is, since GNE seem to have transferred me the a different tariff, the EDF replacement was cash/cheque and not monthly ddm, it'll be interesting to see my first billing since January. I feel a disputed billing arising at some point0

My closing read was 23/4 (opening read for EDF) and I'm still waiting for my final GNE bill.0 -
Update. My gas and electric accounts are live with EDF. GoodI have a ddm in place with EDF. GoodEDF have agreed my opening/closing meter readings with GNE as at 27 April. Why not 31 January?. Good I think?EDF's letter 21 May confirms the meter readings with GNE are ???? there are no meter readings in the letter! Bad .No final billing from GNE, ringing 08005200202, GNE say go to our website. That's closed so cannot see final bill so I'm completely in the dark.Oh joy!0

!!!!!! who works out these estimated meter readings????!!! (Electric is fine...it's always the gas that's wrong historically)
PS I was never asked to provide any 'closing' meter readings for 29/4/21 by EDF

PS I was never asked to provide any 'closing' meter readings for 29/4/21 by EDFIt's not a great estimate, is it! It shouldn't really matter in the long run as you're paying the same with EDF now as you were during the bill period. Are you able to see your account on EDF's website and/or app, and add regular meter readings there?

1st June 2021 and still nothing from EDF. Complaint logged with EDF.
Just frustrating that its taking this long and we will be moving very soon. Communication has been woeful."

It's been painful hasn't it. My first Edf DD has just been taken .
Does anyone know when is the right time to submit meter reads - I get a message "It's not time ............ " ? I've always been in the habit of reading on the last day of the month.
I do keep a simple spreadsheet so I can predict my bills.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I requested a bill from EDF, so I have half an idea where I am. My DD info wasn't set up so EDF put me on a cash/cheque tariff initially. They have billed me from 25th March to 10th April on the higher cash/cheque tariff and then the lower DD tariff from 11th April to 14th May (when I requested the bill). I still have no idea what is happening from before 25th March - whether I'll be billed on GNE rates or EDF.When I was able to enter the DD info on my account (10th April) any balance showing on my EDF account disappeared, and that option just isn't there nowI've been involved with a couple of companies going down now, and to be honest this has got to be the worst for delays and no actual info!I'm getting tired of all this now - I just wish to pay for energy that I've used, at the rates I've agreed to. Oh and of course I would like to know what is happening with my previous balance with GNE. I also think that EDF only billing 6 monthly is appalling, it's just as well that I keep a spreadsheet - but many people don't, and could be in for some big bills! It would be good if the ombudsman would get proactive here and sort things out for us!3

Well, the GNE site is now totally closed.
I logged into EDF and entered meter readings, but it just says I am not due a bill.
No information on where the credit balance with GNE has gone - it was in the range £400 and something. Would be nice to track it down.
EDF automated assistant simply says they have no information from GNE and all they can deal with are emergencies.
If I simply start a transfer to a supplier of my choice, should that process and complete? Might be the only way to prompt EDF into doing something. Given that my new EDF tariff is extortionate, I can't say I am happy to stay with them on the off-chance they honour the price match promise and process that rebate quickly.0 -
Was wondering if anybody who did not hang about and organised own switch away from GNE has encountered an attempt by EDF to switch them away from supplier switched to.
