that sound like EDF may be billing you from start of february instead when they took over as the supplier ?Neil_Jones said:My bill that was due the 12th was never generated, so I'm still in credit by some considerable amount. Last bill was back in January so...
if GNE had produced a bill up to march 12th then you would have ended up being double charged0 -
When and in what format, did EDF say 'end of March'? The end of March is 2 months. MSE - who are now showing themselves as a money-making organisation as useless as EDF - said 'a few weeks.dasgoods said:
This sounds like a common theme in the posts I have read so far. EDF said they would be in contact with everyone by the end of March, but what do we do if EDF don't respond by then? Can we go to the regulator?Hoof_Hearted said:I had my welcome letter and tariff details: Welcome GNE Variable 5 Tariff. However the tariff is higher than the old GNE one (yes both include VAT), despite the EDF promise.
Old Tariff:GNE Spring Sunrise V4
Product Type: Fixed Rate
Payment Method: Direct Debit
Unit Rate: 12.978p/kWh
Standing Charge 18.638p/day
New tariff: 13.9ppkWh and 22.58ppd0 -
Tend to agree, we moved through the Money Saving Expert changing system, I know it’s not their fault that GNR went down, but do feel there should be some more follow up & advice regarding this? There’s 10 days to go & not heard anything at all apart from an email on 23/2 telling me new supplier is EDF & they will be in touch, & not to do anything.(Removed by Forum Team)
Reading your comments I’m quite glad I cancelled my DD as soon as knew GNR had gone bust. But that means I’m going to have a huge outstanding bill to pay at some time or my monthly DDs will be sky high! Could this outstanding debt be reflected on Experian etc?0 -

In a call to EDF on 8 March I was advised EDF expected to be in touch with all GNE customers by 31 March. Time will tell though I'm not too convinced.

No. If you have not been issued with a bill for fuel used up to the actual date of end of supply, it can nether be called 'outstanding' or 'unpaid'. All of us are in the exact same position. I now have to type more as MSE's antiquated software said 'not enough characters'. Thank you Vicar just milk please.

My online account has been set up by EDF. When I checked the tariff I found it was more than my GNE one, both ppkWh and fixed, despite their promise. I complained and the tariff details have been removed from my account. Well worth watching out for this.Je suis sabot...2

Almost end of month and STILL nothing. Time to cancel DD methinks.

Time for my usual end of month meter reads.
I see no point in cancelling DD's - it's part of my household budgeting. As things stand I know what my DD will be till end Sept and also what my unit /standing charges are . I will be just in credit till end of SeptemberNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
How comforting for you. I on the other hand have no idea what tariff i'm on, and therefore cannot budget accordingly, because as several posts on this thread have illustrated, the 'promise' of a lower tariff was meaningless. What a surprise!
